Bit of farming today, steers feeding in between the road and field gates training for when we want to move them, looking good and get hard grub daily, Buzzer

Taken 20 mins ago.

Morning Buzzer

We had a good day at one of our local shows, first with the bull, first with a heifer, first with the pairs and supreme Limousin with the heifer.

Pity the weathers back to normal now, making marks with the quad bike so it will be turning cattle in shortly. Busy now getting mule gimmers ready for the first sale on the 17th of Sept.

Cheers Wrighty.

Nice bit of agri-transport here:

Did that a few times as a boy John drove the 8 wheeler while driver and mate loaded the bales, bit of a job the peddles were hard work

Yes indeed. ERF fan though I am, I think I would have sooner driven an AEC of that era!

Andrew replenishing in Tilbury today and a pic from 8 years ago of cows & calves Buzzer

Saw this que on FB was not you was it Wrighty by any chance, Buzzer

Evening Buzzer

No that is our infamous leader doing a bit on a Saturday, stuck in traffic behind a large transformer heading up the M6 to Longtown.

We were supposed to be showing cattle at Pately Bridge show today, but we have a cow which is a fortnight overdue and the calf is upside down, so we had her induced yesterday and now the waiting game starts so we had to stay at home…

Back to it tomorrow, off down to Leicester with a digger and then down to Colchester with another and then after that who knows.

Cheers Wrighty.

Well what do you do when its forecast rain all day, you get on with the pickled shallots 9 half gallon & 10 2lb jars and not a tear shed, ready to make someone happy around Christmas to go with the cold meat or cheese, 10 weeks to cure and they will be ready

These are the latest of my buys from Salisbury market last Tuesday, 7 x suckler Sim X steers from the Jurasic coast, not quite in the same class as the Lims but they will improve in time, feeding hard grub outside but do not come to call just yet but they will in time,

Hey oop Wrighty, saw this sign and it made me think it would be summit you would have made and erected, especially designed for the local venacular, cheers Buzzer.

Evening Buzzer

I wanted to put one up at home that read, “to cross this field is free, but the bull charges” but Alice said no…

Some people have no sense of humour…

Cheers Wrighty.

It’s the cows I watch out for, if they have calves, when walking past with the dog. I walked down a lane separated by a wire fence from the field and the whole herd crowded the other side and followed us all the way to the end.

Meanwhile, the bull remained in the centre of the field happily munching away.

BTW, isn’t that sign spelled wrong? 2 'R’s in road and no ‘A’.
