Thanks yes exactly same but just a pain these days as don’t really use laptop much & it was so much easier on phone may have to go back to my camera again like the old days it’s just very time consuming might have to put in for some time off to do it.Will that be classed as work? More importantly will I be paid for it lol
Cheers Andrew
Andrew you just cant have time off like that, there is only one on DIT that seems to be able to do that and we all know who that is, think you call him No1, JD.
ANDREW,we will let you off ,ill get you a brownie box camera, to be honest it gets all to technical for me [and spelling]that is why i never owned a camera untill i got this phone,i have exactly 4 photos of me and my whole driving shift,s.driving was my game…
Buzzer,i hope you do not mind as these are you post etc but i would like just to reply to Baldrick 1953 its not lorry related but it was transpot,.
Baldrick 1953 ,the PEGGYDECKBOY,was original DECKBOYPEGGY, I changed it earlier on because i could not post on HERE, IF YOU GO BACK TO PAGE 46/7ish you should find [my driving history] not all of it.
However the term deck boy ,as as it says, i was a deck boy AT 16 AND 1 DAY IN 1960 ON the deck department on ships [cargo vessel’s]out of Birkenhead. on Blue FUNNEL LINE, you were the youngest and lowest in rank.on 13 pound a month, most ships has 2/3 deck boys normally on Blue funnel you did at least 9 months before you progressed in rank to a J.O.S. then on to eventually a A.B.A able bodied seaman,[some say other]lol… i could bore you for hours but the basic job of a deck boy was to fetch meals from the galley to the mess rooms x3times a day wash up ,keep spotless ,clean and scrub all the deck dept toilets, and walk ways.just do as you were tyold and in the afternoon you would be on deck learning the job,all the time you were a deck boy you were called PEGGY all of us,a old term from years ago sailing ships when a man could not go in the rigging because he had lost his LEG he stayed on deck and did the same as we did HENCE PEGGY.
After time i found out some lads only did one trip as PEGGY, THEY WERE LUCK but it was not that bad i did 3x3 months trips peggy ,far east japan,in one year and only 17 i could name you all the ports…but i soon grew up, it was my education the same as all of us as we were not grammer school the officers were and they were ok no probs and not a lot of disipline no yes ,sir no sir just a job on ships all found…dbp
Hi all. Just got home from a lovely evening celebrating buzzers birthday. It was an honour to be invited by John his lovely wife and 2 boys. Thank you for the invite. Hopefully I will be invited to your 80th.
Hi all Mr mapson was at buzzers last night it was good to see him (and a lot of other good “old” boy’s ) he seems to be doing really well.
John will have to turn him round for me please.
There you go, good to see all and a special mention for FT who assisted with the electrical problems, Buzzer
Here is a picture of my 70th birthday cake and very tasty too, alas today the remains were given to the chicken and gobbled up in seconds, great to see friends and family here on Saturday night for the party which went well except for minor electrical issues, Buzzer.

Dan I think I found your yard today but never went in on account of the sign on the gate, was I in the right place ? Buzzer.

Well the power of food never ceases to amaze me, only two days in to giving my steers on the marsh some hard grub they are well and truly hooked, went down today and put some in the troughs then went to find them, they were hiding in the shade of the bushes so I drove them out to count and check them then drove of in front of them with a white feed bag hanging out the window they got up a speed and three overtook me, better than trying to drive them any day, Buzzer.

Morning gerbil sb152
We have been lucky this last week as we got off very lightly with the rain, it’s made a reet mess in Swaledale and will take a long time to fettle the damage. Got to feel for the farmers who have lost livestock especially those who lost there Mule gimmers, they would have been sold in about six weeks time and for some it would have been a large part of their income for the year…
About to go out and sort and move sheep and lambs here, got our hoggs off the fell yesterday and sheard them now it’s back onto the fell until tupping time, the years just seem to go quicker and quicker and before we know it it will be Christmas…
Cheers Wrighty.
