Wrighty that do look the business, once bought two 141 scania’s from Malcombe Harrisons they were that colour and came from ■■■■■■■ think it was Watt’s transport. They did us proud and did they ever go well . woody do look better to me but if his temp and heart beat don’t reduce soon there may be no return then it really is decision time which im’e not looking forward too.
When you have to wait like that do your firm get paid or do they have to ■■■■ it up, pardon the pun. Always a grey area in transport is demurrage , no one ever wants to accept responsibility for delays but some times it has dreadful knock on problems

Yes Buzzer we charge demurrage, the load was booked to be collected at 16.00 for a 7am tip in the morning in Westbury so it will have to be rebooked for sometime tomorrow possibly 12.00. In some ways it hasn’t worked out too bad, I wasn’t looking forward to tackling the M6 southbound on a Friday afternoon. Fingers crossed for Woody hope he makes a full recovery, is it a Limmi sale you’re going too tomorrow ?

Cheers Wrighty.

Wrighty well Mission accomplished today, got me Limousine Bull not pedigree but not bothered about that 5 years old. My mate who went with me bought six suckler cows and calves so we were fair loaded on the way home, he went off to his BBQ and spent two hours cleaning out the truck, they already been out to grass so you know what the inside of the box was like.
Took him down the field to his ladies and let him go, I know he works as some of the calves me mate bought were by him and he was just a smidgen over two grand, the one I really liked made four and a half grand so too rich for me. Will take some shots of him later so you can see what he’s like cheers Buzzer.

How’s Woody JD??

Balders thanks for asking, had the vet yesterday he is grazing and eating a little hard food which is good but has lost a lot of weight, we are monitoring him and hope he pulls through but he looks bright enough.
Here is my Bull which I bought yesterday, he was very wary of me and me of him but its new ground for him so hopefully he will settle like the cows did but would not turn my back on him or go too close, he was lot 007 so we need a name we thought Bondy are there any suggestions from our readers, cheers Buzzer.
Taking the Boss out to Sunday lunch as this is what you do when you spend a shed load of dosh on a Bull on a Saturday.

Buzzer, WELLINGTON, [plenty of beef] or “sissy” and then run…

Evening Buzzer

He’s a fine fella with a good arse by the looks if it, nowt wrong with that price he should do your job no problem. How about calling him Q not much of a mouthful as you are running away(only joking) he looks quiet enough though and should quieten down in a couple of weeks.

Cheers Wrighty.

PDB that’s just like you thinking of roast beef on the plate in front of you with that name. Went for a stroll in my rented ground tonight with the good lady of the house, this is about nine acres which is mowable for haylage not a lot there yet but cannot cut till July the first anyway. No fertilizer allowed as SSI or sprays hence the Buttercups, this is a waste of good ground owned by the tax payer who has no say in what happens here, bit like the EU and we are not going to start on that today. The view is beautiful looking down the river Hamble to the IOW and I would like a fiver for every boat on the water there. Added also is another shot of me as yet un named Bull which will be released in due course, cheers Buzzer.

Never trust a Bull no matter how quiet they may seem, my old man did that and nearly got killed in the process, nor a cow with a fresh calf as both can turn and be very quick on there feet. This Bull was keen as he tried to serve a cow going up the tailboard at the market, Buzzer.

Now then Gentlemen I have a real Mary Hopkin’s moment right here, don’t know the year but going back a long way. This was unearthed by the “Boss” and relates to one of our Christmas dinners we had at the Prince of Wales in Shirrell Heath, the card is signed by Mark, Jock, Scott, Jamie & Penny, Paul & Kelly, Paul (FT), Mark & Helen (Delboy) , Ian (Elk) Rock, Denny & Marylin, Stuart (Qwozzy) Steve and finally Gibbo.
Don’t know who wrote the little ditty but they had it pretty much spot on, oh for those days back again Buzzer.

Evening Buzzer

Busy farming today, dismantled the lambing pens to make one big pen to let Ivantastic run with some bulling heifers. He got fairly wound up when we put him in, so much so that at one point we thought he was going to push the block wall over between the buildings. Hopefully he will calm down but as you said in an earlier post you can never be too careful with bulls and certainly you can never trust them…

Cheers Wrighty.

Evening all,

Boy he looks a good lad Buzzer, you should get some nice calves from him …

Wrighty, we always used 9in concrete blocks, and steel uprights every 6 ft for that sort of pen…the strength those lads have is amazing!

Well, we got our first cut of pure organic sileage yesterday…and it was heavy, and very clean…all went to my great neighbour for his Herd, (though how anyone can stay in Milk today amazes me)…

I should get another 3/4 cuts looking at the growth, although our clay is very wet even without what they are forecasting for tonight here. We never use any fertilizer, I seem to have a knack at getting good growth, with lots of clover…

Though the best was that I sneaked out, and although I was not cutting/or collecting, I was up and down with a tractor carting all day…best day I have had all year…grief did I get a …(telling off)…

Cheerio for now, from a happy man!

Saviem (John) when I went last week to Ross-on-Wye to look at a bull that was not up to par there were three generations of the family to greet me, the granddad who talked of growing his spuds, the father who does a milk round doorstep delivery and finally the son who milked cows on a farm nearby, you could see the 150 Guernsey cows in the distance across the valley and they were a good mile from the milking unit so a quad bike to fetch them in, I say unit as they also had 700 other cows to deal with, a three man team 36/36 parlour three man team that start just before five until 10 am then back at 2.30 till 8pm and the owner has just bought a farm next door to expand even further. That seems to be the way today bigger and bigger, the heavy yielders don’t go out at all soon it will be a 24 hour non stop milk fest but not for me, cheers Buzzer.

Very sad day here as I had to have “Woody” one of my team of horses put down. The vet came and assessed him and there was no real solution to his problems, I gave him the chance and spent a grand with the vets but to no avail and then had to pay a further £289 to have him dispatched. Anyways better start the search for a replacement but it is hard dealing with situations like this as some how they seem more than just a horse, had him five years of good service and done many countless miles, RIP big boy. Buzzer.

Evening Buzzer

Very sad news about Woody but you can comfort yourself in the fact that you did everything possible for him,it takes a long time to get over a loss such as yours…
