Your right Gartner are massive down in Austria I think they’ve got about 1500 units and twice as many trailers every other 1 on the road is theirs I was down there in Vienna this week

Took this shot outside the church I got married in 40yrs next year, remember I had side boards & longish hair and flared trousers to the suit (didn’t we all) funnily enough we had a carriage and pair for our wedding but that was well before I became involved with horses myself. We had just done a little jaunt to Lee on Solent, had a mug of tea and sausage and chips very nice but it was a tad chilly by the sea today, Buzzer.

Nice horses John !
I found another nice pic at Gaydon of one of you old 88’s John !

Nice one Jimmer, now that’s old as FT had not even fitted the customary 4 hella spots under the bumper that was a feature on our Volvo’s, where was it taken though ? Buzzer.

Taken on its way to the Hella shop
Who’s trailer is it ■■

Now being that long ago Jimmer should think it was one of Hocfun’s aka Colin Wilks, we used to load Tampax at Havant for Prato in those boxes, they needed loads down there as there were always plenty of customers for them if you get my drift ! Buzzer.

Small world Buzzer, I used to load out of Tambrands at Havant in about 1986 with a United Carriers ERF unit, as we used to do a trailer drop 'n swop Tony (the dispatch foreman) often would ask me to move other trailers whilst I was there as I think they never had their own yard shunter unit. Only ever did UK deliveries from there myself normally to RDCs.

Ah Mr Wilkes now he was a character, a man of many guises i seem to remember.
I did plenty of his loads to Italy when i worked for Eddie Huntley, though that was mainly ISR rubber.
They did have quite a few box trailers, mostly Rentco.

It was good to see so many old faces turned up for John Heatons funeral yesterday.
