We all make mistakes, as the Dalek said, crawling off the dustbin…
When I was on agency when I first started out I took a wrong turn in Leeds and ended up outside the L.G.I (hospital) I decided to do a 3 point turn to go back the other way and proceeded to knock most of the wall down outside the hospital when I reversed back
Oh how I laughed at myself while everyone outside and inside the hospital looking out of the windows watched my little mishap

Thanks, i needed a laugh.
I think it’s a mental pride thing all artic drivers suffer from at some point - the desire to ‘do it in one’. I can think of occasions myself where I have made work harder for myself by opting not to take that shunt early in the manoeuvre, or just start again.
did the same thing this morning completely fuming with myself , came into the yard after taking a wide swoop to let another truck out got to the barrier and it stayed open so was crawling towards it incase it came down on me ,i did not realise that the wide swoop i taken was not wide enough and scraped the trailer about 6 ft down the side and knocked over one of the posts on the end of the fence , gladffully for me the post had rusted very badly at the base so it just broke without putting any dint’s in the trailer . i am gutted and so annoyed with myself over it as i’ve been in stupid tight spaces and been fine but then go thru a wide entrance and i hit the side

Gutted, I am. Been in and out of our yard on a daily basis for the past several years with never a problem. Today I drove into the yard and went to reverse into a parking space. Didn’t get the alignment quite right, so what I should have done is abandon the whole manouevre and start again. What I actually did was mess it all up, attempt to reverse from completely the wrong angle and ended up scraping the curtain of a parked trailer. No huge damage, and TM is quite calm about it, but I’m so ■■■■■■ with myselfWhy do these things happen?
I always admitted to our boss any oopses.
Was always asked If I had learnt something from the incident.
His attitude was, learn from ur mistakes, move on, don t dwell.
He was a good boss in many ways.
