FLIP:
Don’t mind 9’s even the 8’s when they were legal as part of your split rest but prefer 12 or more on a night out. Good walk round. Pint and a bar meal or similar and still time fir a good night’s kip.
Its ok of you’re a tramper…

And that’s exactly how I politely reasoned it with my employer when they willy-nilly & over-regularly programmed me in for minimum rest - which they have since seemingly respected by very, very rarely doing it any more.
11 hours minimum, our lot don’t ask you to reduce daily rest, invariably its 12 to 14 hours off.
Is this thread referring to the rest time off for the regs or the actual time off between shifts?
The two can be very different because a driver could do a 15 hours shift and then take say 12 hours off before starting the next shift but only 9 hours off will count for the regs - so that’s a 9 hour reduced daily rest with 12 hours off

Ooh, perchance an opportunity to slag-off the EU for making an easy-life undemocratically over-complex ![]()
