I think we all steal as much road as we can when it is safe to do so, I do it myself, but he clearly has no road sense, anyway, said my bit, jumping ship

front mirror, makes me think its not a left ■■■■■■It’s got the forward facing kerb mirror on the right hand side of windscreen therefore making it a leftie
Agreed
Plus zoom in and you can see the wipers are also leftieAnyway, this cutting corners things seems to be a growing problem, too many can’t drive for toffee
^ This amongst numerous other issues where people these days don’t seem to give a zb about keeping to their own side of the road.Bus drivers being some of the absolute worst. But when it starts getting to trucks it can only end in tears big time sooner or later assuming two trucks going in opposite directions.Totally mental driving.Where is Albion when he’s needed.
Those particular bends you need to watch your mirrors with a truck coming the other way when you are completely in the right road position and driving considerately, but easy to get through safety if you knock the speed off a little, his problem was as ever, speed…flat out you need to pinch a bit, which is exactly how fast he looked to be going.
A complete non-event and not even worthy of the internet bandwidth. He wasn’t “heavily” onto your side of the road at all, he encroached by a foot, max. So what, he misjudged the bend a little, just like we’ve all done at some point. Hardly the end of the world is it. Too many never-do-wrong driving Gods on this site.
OMG! there could have been a couple of cyclists around the corner and you may have had to swerve to avoid them or even Doris might have been walking out of the farm shop and been deeply traumatised by the whole event.
The fact that you took no evasive action along with no loud expletives says it all basically, as above, non event drama queen.
Close but not quite carling.
You may also want to start obeying the ‘SLOW’ warnings in future.
Glad everyones ok though but this really is a non event.
Bit close for comfort to be fair. I wonder if he’s a trainee potato bulker pilot? They seem to spend most of their time on the other side of the road!

As I was already under the posted speed limit and I know the road implicitly I considered my speed perfectly safe for the conditions

Who the ■■■ said I never did anything wrong in my driving career? given that you only see the start of his cut and not how close it came to taking my mirror off as he went down the side of me maybe you should wind your neck back in a little and stop acting like some righteous dik ?
Is there a tree / big bush there ,would it be he’s moved out a bit because of it ,left ■■■■■■ ,other than that I’m struggling looking at the road as too think why he’s where he is .
My worry would be is he drifting across towards me ,not nice feeling
See why you are a bit ■■■■■■ mate with you having your little girl in the car etc, but it looks to me just like why all accidents and near misses occur, that is a combination of an error of judgment and lapse of concentration, it isn’t as if he put you in the dyke and off the road, and you seemed to cope with it calmly and well anyway.
Just wait to the 50mph on A roads come in, a charter for dickwhits to sit on the limiter all day long on all A roads, good or bad, I’m wary enough now as it is in the car approaching trucks, and I’ve driven them for years, but I reckon truck related RTA.s will increase after the new limits, or targets as said dickwhits will look on them.

Are you seriously suggesting that would have been a non event it had been two full width trucks or the truck and a coach.

Assuming two trucks in opposing directions on that road that is as heavily into the wrong side of the road as it needs to get.
Latvian firm. prob has a Russian driver .remember these guys to 1000’s of miles per year driving on the other side of the road then do a few hundred on our side iv seen many of us brits doing the same thing on their first few trips abroad

I’m sure D Dave can answer for himself, but that specific event in question was a non event, wasn’t it, end of, so truck, coach, Sherman tank or clown’s car is irrelevant aint it, and in 2or 3 of those hypothetical cases maybe it would be.

I would never do that but “my mate” said that he made a few mistakes like that while driving on holiday in France this year, he said the empty country roads were where he made the most mistakes

Hate to admit it, but I’ve done it myself , luckily both occasions were on an Ind est so they went unnoticed.

By that logic there’s no need to bother about keeping on the right side of the line through bends because there’ll only be something coming the other way that’s big enough to worry about in 2 or 3 cases. In which case that’s just life when the inevitable happens.Which seems to be the general standard of driving these days in too many cases.
But you’ve also left out motorcyclists who are taught the suicidal idea of approaching that potential situation on the line ‘to get better vision round the bend’.

There’s a difference between knowing what side of the road to drive on and then just cutting across the line with impunity as opposed to totally forgetting. The result should be the same in either case assuming anyone is making a habit of either ‘a few times’ being more than enough in that regard.IE get them off the road before they inevitably take someone else and/or themselves out.

I’ve never understood why bikers do this, putting themselves in the decapitation zone! Definately not advised.
