:open_mouth: :open_mouth: :open_mouth: :open_mouth: I hope that’s not going to be me   :frowning: :frowning: surely not after the great advice from you guys

Not a good time of year for carrying eggs

A mate of mine took a load of Eggs from Suffolk to Switzerland in a tilt years ago, the load was frost protected with straw on top of the eggs. He got stuck due to bad weather and was parked for two days when the temperature dropped like a stone and the whole load froze
The load ended up in Lichtenstein at a food processing plant !

If your luck runs anything like mine, bonnie lass, you’ll get yourself all sorted and psyched up for the job, then it’ll be cancelled at the last minute

what a yolk

But it’ll be all white.

if where you collect they have empty egg trays and the pallets are shrink wrapped just grab about 5 or 6 in a stack and tuck them inside the shrink wrap at the top. That way if through movement they “rock” the trays act as a shock absorber. If someone tries to fork on a pallet looking like the leaning tower of Pisa I would reject it if you can cos if they do go over its a bloody mess.

SHE’LL be right!

Eggs-actly.

EGGcellent advice everyone.

I think you are over EGGing it a bit.
EGGstremely bad ‘Yokes’.
Another EGGsample of bored lorry drivers waiting for another load of …‘EGGS’.

Get a load of fresh farmhouse chickens. Insert the eggs and transport them ‘natures way’ :stuck_out_tongue:

:open_mouth: WOW :open_mouth: hiya everyone, and a
Very BIG THANK YOU ALL , for all the eggspert advice, you wonderful guys posted to help me tackle this load of eggs   & for the yokes I have just caught up with, lol

Well here is the update for you all,

All though my brains were scrambled, I was determined not to tread on eggshells & to tackle this load boldly, as I should now know eggsactly what I should be doing after all the eggspert advice from all you wonderful people. with all the cracking years of eggsperience you all have. …how very kind of you to share this with me, as I didn’t want to get in a pickle .

Someone else had poached my curtainsider, I thought they were yolking until I read my instructions ( good job it wasn’t April fools day! ), so instead of boiling in frustration, I simmered gently at the thought of having a smashing time & taking it ‘over easy’ to my destination. With a box trailer instead & ready loaded too!!
Pulled up on the bay, & they tipped the load while I baked in the warm cab as I had to wait a while. When the green light showed on my bay, yippee I eggsclaimed as I went for the paper work, job done. …no yolk on me !!

Yep, all joking aside , the day went very well with no mishaps, and although they had changed trailer’s at least I shall be at the ready next time with all the valuable information you all gave me on loading the curtainsider , which will happen again sometime. Many thanks to you all

Sorry I forgot to mention that the eggs were in boxes stacked on pallets and wrapped onto the pallet , the pallets being side by side down the length of the trailer

Hi bonnie lass,
Many thanks for telling us about your eggsotic adventure. :unamused:
I was worried that the load might ( egg ) flip , but you managed better than the previous driver ,

  • named Humpty Dumpty , who cracked-up , and was never the same again.

Your next consignment to transport is :…
10,000 in-season doe rabbits , and 100 buck rabbits . :unamused:   :stuck_out_tongue:
A load of Easter Bunnies .

Cheers, cattle wagon man.

Hi cwm , lucky for me the load traveled well & thankfully without mishap, happy trucking
