Got the Missus to stich some Velcro on so can easily remove if need be cheers anyway

sorry guys  sooooooo sorry  i too have a valence /pelmet/cuttain thing , but honestly it was much a dare as much as a rush of blood to the head , & my spare driver mate said ‘go on it’ll look great’ although i cant see anyway of attatching them either , & my windscreen has no rubber to pin it too, i’m a bit on the fence with this as i think everyone elses look good whereas mine will look naff :unamused:
thanks for posting this hodgeR500 i dont feel so bad now

btw although i was egged on by my so called mate to buy them as they’ll look good , he has since been offered his ‘own’ truck to drive & he’s not getting any for his cab :unamused:

As has been posted before on a DAF the easiest way to fix a pelmet is to use drawing pins into the rubber widescreen seal. I’ve had mine like this in my last two DAFs and it’s never been a problem.

On a R series Scania it’s more difficult as their is no screen rubber. What I did was to remove the thin panel that runs along screen edge where the sun visors are, IIRC its where the motion sensor for the alarm is fitted, and fixed the pelmet to the return edge again using pins.

One thing to remember is that technically you are obscuring the windscreen view so you will need to remove it for an MOT and if your servicing/inspections are done by jobsworth LTD they can also be a bit snotty about them.

Cheers

I dont see a problem with the curtains as most manufactered ones are far to thin plus they look good sometimes. Its total stupidity pulling them half way across the window though restricting your view.Just dont pull them so far over!

Spoke to one of the guys at work, we only run Scannies, what he did was… Use a hot glue gun, put a small splodge about the size of your pinkie nail on the top of the curtain and stick it right at the top of the screen, he said that when you want to take them down the glue just rolls off without marking anything, hope this helps.

Hodge, where did you get those from mate. I like them.

I just love those girly tarts parlour window obscures…

Or should I say I just love pulling them down… :unamused:

I work nights, so dont like anything dangling in front of my eyes,
so useually find a quick tug usualy pulls them down.

Please dont put cr-p in trucks that other p[eople have got to tidy up,
or remove when you finnish your duty.

Frilly curtains is one thing, but, if you have blue lights as well, then we will be worried about you :smiling_imp:   :grimacing:
