Eh?
The photo of Stobarts Cargo above bought me in mind o one I made earlier. It was in my collection for years and a wee lad in Sanquhar who is a big Stobart fan now has this one and he was over the moon with it. Eddie.
I had the pleasure of driving a cargo for esl, then a fl ,then a fh ,then a 95drag,all in 1year in the 90s when the firm was growing at a massive rate,

Yea u can polish a turd, the first stobart livery was great, the s in the arrow and the 2 flags, its every other lorry is stobart now with cab wraps…i dont think a wrap would have done much to a cargo

Aye the old Stobart livery was great, the new modern one is quite frankly crap.

Cheers , cattle wagon man.
I wondered how big a firm Les Watson are, keep seeing there trucks up and down the road here.
And on ESL, without derailing this thread, I do like the new wrap, Like them or loathe them, it’s a smart livery.
I left school Dec.56 and started working in Fergussons garage at Kirconnel and being lorry daft was always giving drivers a wave as they went past. One of the regular firms was Mullens Motors of Appleby who had four motors on the Kirby Thore to Ardrossan run they were Ford Trader units with 4 in line trailers. They ran in two’s an early and late shift week about. One day one of them stopped and had a bleather and it turned out it was Les Watson and a good few years later he set up on his own and had one motor for a number of years I think it would be when the family started driving they put more on. But Les was a real nice chap always happy and smiling.

Pitty Brown’s backed in. They still have a couple of wagons which didn’t sell in the auction in 2010 though
Cheers
