All these people saying to tell them to stick it have clearly not had the pleasure of looking for a job recently, or they’d know how ■■■■ the market really is. In the past 3 weeks I’ve applied to over 25 jobs, and from that I’ve had 3 no thanks replies, 2 who want me to sign up to ■■■■■■■■ recruitment agencies (and have been told to go forth and multiply) and the rest haven’t even taken the time to reply.

The job market is screwed right now

dew, depending upon where we live you’re right. But there’s no harm in having the mindset of…“i’m not having this i’m off as soon as i get a chance” at least it makes it more bearable than…this is what i’ve got and i’m stuck with it". You can change your life and employment easily at anytime, not many people have the ■■■■■■■■ to do it. But its easier to do than complaining.

You’ve misunderstood me Mike, of course I say looking for something new is good, hence I’m doing it myself (Although away from transport for now), but the days of quitting a job at breakfast and having another by tea time are long gone.

Don’t be too quick to jump from one boat unless you have another to land on, or else you’ll only get wet.

Thanks for your advice chaps, i never quit until i get another its just the amount of drops in silly time frames plus the stupid places they send a 50ft truck to

It does depend largely on where you are located.
A Bradford firm (who make and deliver their own product with their own fleet) has been
advertising recently for three Class 1 drivers and received little response from anyone suitable. Over 25, some experience, clean ticket and a dcpc seems to be too much to ask.

Abysmal? £10.10 sounds pretty good for full time work, especially in that area. Not sure about the “local” bit though, sound like little housg estate stores.

Yes, it is Morrisons Local stores - convenience stores. Job is mainly done on rigid and involves roll cages/tail lift. Access to most of them is decent though.

If it’s mainly class 2 work then £10.10 an hour is actually very good.

Class2 is £8.16 on probation then £9.60 for 45 hrs

There will be even more choice in September…
