Crap Drivers in the UK

Yes,that was my step frame, and tautliner, would drop the trailer by the fort, overlooking the bay,and take the unit to the playa.Silver Euro PSL,Blue Garnett eurotrans trailers. There is the fort which is a barracks for the national service army. How much is the house?

Hullo toby1234abc,
Well that could have very well been you that I saw, or rather your vehicle. Did you ever eat in any of the places in Ariea, the village where the campsite is ? You certainly chose the very best part of Portugal to park at, so near to many places, Cascais, Estoril, Cabo de Roca, Sintra, Ericera and of course Lisbon. The house is on the campsite and really does have the very best view of any other house or van on the site. I would like to see £18.000 for it, it cost me a few bob more than that four years ago, plus everything is now connected, Water, Waste and Electricity. And everything goes with it furniture fridge/freezer, TV (all UK programmes). A really lovely place to be all winter. I only am selling it because my partner is from Brasil and we intend to base ourselves in UK for Summer and Brasil for Summer.
Cheers, Archie.

You need a picture if you want to sell your place in Portugal , Archie .

Oi, can we stop all this love fest stuff, yes I mean you Mr Cairns  & get back to slagging people off please :open_mouth:

Archie, can you send a brochure of the house,or email pictures to hotmail,or pm.Peniche is not too far away, and another fave spot was Costa Lavos, near Figueira de Foz,near the very big and foul smelling Soporcell mill and wood/paper mill.Heavy loads coming out of there. What are the chances of working for a local company in Lisboa.Garland Laidley in Aboboda, and the big outfit of Luis Somoes,Brites Int.Tpt,LDA.Cant see why Brits flock like sheep to the overpriced/overated Algarve.Northern Portugal is delightful,Braga and Guimareas etc.No faz mal,Boa fin de semana. :open_mouth:

Archie, what are the costs of the campsite house,if know one was leaving in it,like standing charges for utilities and do you have to pay a maintenance fee, even if nobody is there. In the UK,we have to pay council tax witha 50%per cent reduction if not lived in.

Hullo toby1234abc,
Yes you are so right in as much as the North of Portugal being beautiful, in fact right down to Lisboa is nice. It’s only when you cross the Tagus that the terrain becomes a bit more bare, and as for the Algarve, well yes OK for some I suppose but certainly not to my taste at all. I shall try to put some photos on here, but I have tried to put photos of my trucks on before and I am just not clever enough, I could probably do better sending stuff on Skype or normal e-mail. There are charges for having a house on the Camp, I pay a standing charge monthly ( I pay for a year at a time, and get a month free ) I am just about to pay my bill at the end of this month, that will be €1944. Then yes you need to pay for water and Electric, but these are quite cheap items, Gas you buy in bottles from a Garage. I asked about some work at Patinter but they only take on Brasillians and Eastern Europeans ( cheap labour ). I shall try to do the pictures tomorrow, I do have to dash now as they’ve just rang to ask me to get up to Middlesbrough and down to Didcot tonight. Never ending is it, when I get back and have my minimum break it’s down to Lutterworth, another GP missed on Sunday.
Cheers, Archie.

Obriagado.

Good easy work though these days. Out of the Asda Depot at Teesport, double deck 52 pallets to any of the other Depots and back usually empty.

All I can say is you are easily pleased. We have gone from Eurotrotting if not Globetrotting to hanging out in the local RDC and I for one am not happy. I became a wagon driver to DRIVE, not sit twiddling my thumbs at Mr Morrisons place.

Agree on the driving thing mind, but what do you expect. Dumb the job down, drop the pay, make 'em like sheep and you get sheep. Baaa. How many now would know how to even bleed the injectors and get goin again if you ran out of diesel or summat.

CRACK ON TO MACON:

Heh Archie
Did you ever find out about the Founders Inn ( “O Fundador”), up the hill in Estoril, that I asked you about ages ago ■■
Fella called Dave used to own it…in about 1986-7.
What a great place, I think Merv the Swerve used to frequent the place aswell as some of the Aquilla subbies. I used to love it there, pulled a bird from Norwich there, who’s sister used to go out with some posh Ex-Pat Brit mummies boy who owned a Roller !! I cant quite remember how it all came about, but I ended up taking the Norwich Bird home and back out on subsequent trips !!! She had fantastic ■■■■… ohh it’s all coming back to me…GS

Hullo Gavin,
No sorry mate, I did ask a friend on the telephone, he lives over there and he also used to own a restaraunt in Estoril, but he was’nt able to place it. I have’nt been back over there myself yet, so at this moment I can’t look it up for you, but I shall be over there again later in the year and I shall definately make a point of searching it out for you. It will be later though because this Winter we are off around the World, Hong Kong, Christmas in the warm in Oz , NZ, and back to South America, Chile, then overland to Sao Paulo. We will be back here in May, so it will be just after that that we go down to Portugal. But I will look it up.
Cheers, Archie.

How many drops you got on that trip , Archie ? & where do you find yer reload ?
