Underneath. They don’t need all the wheels fully off the ground but enough that no wait is resting on them…
pretty penny for one of these ones i bet
The crane that they built to work on J19 of the M1 over the last couple of nights was a monster, never seen a crane so big that isnt a tower crane. Took about 3 mobile cranes, a load of trucks and about a week to make it.
Baldwins had a crane of 1200 tons lifting capacity so that would have a fair few support vehicles for the ballast and jib sections. It was a 20x8 axle configuration with nine steering and would travel on the road stripped down at around 130 tons. This was in the 1990s

bloody hell, thats nuts, and thats without all the gear
wonder what it would set you back, and what its capabilities are?
Another duty where I had a crane to assist. I had to get the truck in position, they tilted the satellite dish up to do this then lift the boom and move it away, they lowered the dish so it was almost touching the truck and then they could get the crane in. This was due to the limitations of the machine
Just a baby, but still interesting to watch!
remember about 1988 me and two other drivers delivering airconditioning units to a new sports complex in barnsley.when we got there an hour later the crane rolls up on all six axles.it was its first time out,and it took all day to tip the three wagons cause the driver didnt know how to use it,he kept stopping to read the instructions…truth
