Kind of stuff that happens when people are too comfortable and have too little real things to worry about.

Can’t recall last time I saw a village or town weight limit in Northern Ireland, if ever? I know tanks weigh a bit, but all that stuff left ages ago [emoji38]

even if there was,in north or particulary the south, nobody would care…road closed means just crack on anyway as itl probably be ok.different laid back world once your off the ferry.

We’re not up our own arse’s over here in NI which helps a tad!!!

Look@ poor aul Ballygowan/Craigantlet the 44T bulker hordes from THREE busy quarries going through 530am til 5pm Mon/Fri and nobody says diddly squat!!!

And whist lorries cause more damage, I’ll bet he doesn’t want to see each lorry replaced by 25 vans. Nor would he like the resulting drop in received taxation. Ever truck on the road (excluding foreign vehicles…), donates circa 55k* to the Treasury every year.

The people of South Thanet could have listened to Nigel Farage a bit more when he spoke of not shutting down Manston Airport, and sorting out the huge number of drivers coming through kent, but not paying into the local economy… As such, they’ve only got themselves to blame in that neck of the woods if they now don’t like HGVs parked all over the place, and not to their liking. Diddums! :imp:

Just move Dover to Sussex…Solve that problem!

Maybe the RHA should pay a visit to the council meeting one day…just to educate them that its the businesses that cause big bad lorries to drive through their villages…and not the drivers. As someone has already pointed out…WE dont want to be there anyway !!..I do love these little twerps in cars who stop you midway, to tell you …You have no right to be in this lane

Juddian as ever, is bang on the money (mammon  ) Could not resist
The use of the word mammon is as good a use I have seen for quite some time :sunglasses:

Very good post Juddian!

Yes Newhaven,loads of jobs.

If lorries are banned from Kent, how will the statues celebrating the man who banned lorries from driving in Kent be delivered to the areas of Kent in which lorries have been banned from?

You can’t ban all lorries but you could look is it necessary to send the amount that go there , I would sent into a few weeks ago , booked in , gave paper work to forkie , he loads me and shouts done driv , 5 pallets :exclamation: , 5 , yes driv I checked as I thought you lost some paper work , but no it was 4 but got order for 1 more .
it was just a general product , nothing special , I dragged it 4 ish hours up the road to be told it was due in until later so drop it on the fence .
could they of consolidated that load , saved a Lorry in Kent , how many more lorrys do what I did , I don’t think you can ban lorries but look at are all journeys into Kent neccesary , firms working together would be a start , are the reciever of the goods so desperate they couldn’t wait a day for those 5 pallets to be consolidated into a full load

To be fair the point as usual seems to be the South East getting dumped on by the rest of the country. Then the hypocrites around the country playing the nimby card when it’s them who are biggest nimbys. This time in the form of the insult of unsuitable routes in rural Kent being used as a rat run for through heavy commercial traffic added to the injury of loads of overloaded motorways running through the place. In large part to provide the rest of the country with transport infrastructure in the form of the Channel Tunnel and ferry links because the rest of the country doesn’t want to take its fair share of such routes in the form of regional ferry port and service provision expansion.Just like it’s always the South East that gets dumped on to provide the rest of the country with air transport infrastructure v the regions. On that note I can understand what the councillor is saying in this case and I agree with him.Just as I agree with those opposed to South East airport expansion when the rest of the country should be taking its fair share of it.

The simple solution is clearly flying lorries,Maybe Dr Damon could lead this revolution.

They still needed to shut the airport if the wanted to park trucks on it

I was just trying to remember how many hedges Ive destroyed with my mirrors.

and in 2016

During 2016, authorities in Kent took action against 3,700 lorry drivers for parking illegally or inappropriately*

Wonder how much cash that brought in to the council.

Maybe a mass fleet of Chelsea tractors each carrying a left arm or a torso?

Wouldnt it be great if lorrys were actually banned.

And all haulage firms decided to avoid the area.

Just wonder how long it would take for these rather dumb people to realise that lorrys arent running around for the sake of it, and pretty much everything they have, own or eat is transported at various time by lorrys.

Retards.
