Council parking ticket for parking on verge

romik:
I guess I have to pay it, but was wondering why wardens only gave us parking tickets and not to network rail? Favouritism?

Most likely reason being that (outside of London) no offence is committed by parking a car or van on a verge or footway unless there are specific byelaws or Traffic Orders in force at that location. Section 19 Road Traffic Act 1988 makes it an offence to park a HGV on any verge, footway etc.

Double yellows on the road, the restrictions extend to pavement and verge so unfortunately bang to rights. Pretty poor though especially as it’s obviously were people park up but that’s likely why they do it.

Should have parked at Worlds End

In hindsight I would have, but when you don’t actively do nights out the knowledge of where and when is the problem, especially when there isn’t an abundance of parking places for truckers at night time.

Also, I hate layby parking as the way my body works I gotta have a dump in the morning, I have told company I ain’t doing nights out unless get caught out
