Agreed mate. A stupendous bell end indeed.
Seems to be on some kind of crusade. Didn’t Sean Connery go on one a few years back with Han Solo?

Lorries are big, dangerous and hurt when they hit you.If you are sad enough to enjoy riding bicycles-stay away from them. Simples.
Sadly untrue. Many victims simply run down from behind in daylight. HGV driver drunk (Dennis Putz) banned and uninsured (Barry Meyer) on phone (Warby) on Facebook (Keith Mees) . That only bad riders get hurt is a terrible lie.

And then, on a truck driver’s forum a sneering contempt for people on bikes is evident. We’re all “sad”. Anyone on a bike is “sad” says a driver who is one of those most likely to kill us. It’s a prejudice and resentment that informs driving behaviour.
No fella. What is really sad is that cyclists don’t stay away from lorries.
Common bloody sense.
^^^ And lorry drivers wonder why they are getting such such a bad reputation ^^^

The examples you give are appalling and many on here have little time for driver who kill or put other lives in danger because they are drunk or on the phone or just reckless, just read the A34 thread.
But you are trying to find fault with the driver in this incident, when according to all witnesses the cyclist and truck were never in collision and the truck was already on the roundabout and the cyclist seemed to lose control when she saw it. Not really sure what the driver could have done to avoid a collision that never happened?
To be honest it makes you as blinkered as the ones on here that seem try and shift blame from the driver in any incident involving a truck.
As for your comments about earphones and listening to music, you probably have a fair point, the statement from Duncan Dollimore seems pretty uncontroversial to me.
Basically this is an awful incident where the woman made a mistake, for reasons unknown, and lost her life. My thoughts go out to her, her family and friends.

Most HGV victims are pedestrians. The mother and child upthread had the green man at the crossing and both lost their lives. It’s insulting to pretend all HGV victims lack common sense.
Most cyclist victims are run down in daylight. The last two London victims were killed this way, struck from behind. It really is a horrible, nasty falsehood to say the only cyclists who get hurt did something wrong. Most were obeying all the rules. Road positioning and ear phones don’t make a scrap of difference if the HGV driver behind you is playing with a phone, drunk, uninsured, on drugs.
Mees had been spending 14 minutes on a phone call to tell his girlfriend he was dumping her, and then immediately before impact started browsing Facebook to send messages to an ex-partner with whom he wanted to rekindle a relationship.
Mees had previously been banned for drink-driving.
His immediate reaction when told at the crash site that the occupants of the car he hit were dead was: ‘For f***’s sake, I’ve only had my [HGV] licence for a few weeks.’

Strange , that after a cycling incident makes the news , you appear , as if by magic to post your monotonous views , that everyone else is at fault , Drivers , when there is no clear evidence this is in fact the case , the Police , their investigation is at fault , the legal system, in their attitude towards cyclists. Clutching at straws & trying to imply about mechanical defects ,simply because they were not mentioned.
You continually cast up past incidents , where drivers were unfit to drive , used phones etc .
It really is a nasty horrible falsehood for you to try & insinuate that all drivers are this way & for you to attempt to tar everyone with your brush .
In this world , accidents happen , but you still cannot see that the one mentioned in the start of this thread may just have been that , an accident , with very unfortunate results where no blame can be attached to the driver involved .
You give good details about using headphones , but the case is , you still see that all others are at fault for all incidents involving cyclists, yet they , the cyclists are never at fault , are never criticised by you & in your eyes do no wrong .
Is this due to the very large blinkers you continually wear ?
