We have company phones and they pay the line rental and the 1st £20 and we can use as much as wee want (as long as dont rip the ars e out it).
truth be told very rarely does anyone get a bill . unless they are phoning ehhhhh premium rate numbers lol
Quick update. The phone is now here and he’s explained how he wants the deductions to work.
He’s said to deduct the cost of the phone - £180 pa - from her salary she quotes when claiming working tax credits. I’m assuming the idea be that they will increase the credit to cover the shortfall.
After explaining we don’t qualify for working tax credits he’s backed down and isn’t going to deduct it from her wages (it still applies to the other staff) I think having it pointed out to him making deductions would also be illegal helped.
Just for fun I’ve refused to connect her phone to the household wifi as he wants the phones to update overnight without using his data package (because hes gone for the cheapest option) and also to take it into the office once a week to charge it. I’m not paying for the electric for that either. It’s not because I’m being tight about the cost, I just disagree with the way it’s been forced upon us.
