Longest I’ve done without a break was 7 hours 15 minutes when I was caught up in the aftermath of a chemical tanker overturning on the M25.

prob about 4hrs 27.to expand a bit.
I started 22:15.
Drove to peterborough.
Unloaded
Drove back
Managed to get back in depot just in time with about 4 hours 27mins of driving time done.
Took break. Then I uncoupled picked up my new trailer and went to somewhere near Shepards Bush. left during rush hour.
Got to shepards Bush unloaded
Drove back
Got back with 4 hours 17/19 mins driving time accured and my working time was at like 14 hours 45 minutes. So, very close. If I did not push my first run to get back to depot before taking a break I would of probably ran out of hours before I finished my 2nd run.
I did regular double return runs from Feltham-Bristol or Feltham-Kilworth with one break back at Feltham between the two return runs.
Or return run from Feltham/Dewsbury, or Scottish changeover Charnock Richard or Killington Lake and last of all Feltham/Luton/Dewsbury/Luton/Feltham.All with one break during the trailer or vehicle swap at Dewsbury or Charnock or Killington.
The Scottish changeover was with one of the two trucks having a speed limiter as they were just being introduced at the time and the Feltham Luton etc was all limited at 90 kmh which didn’t help. But such direct trunks being way better than hub system work.
Thats relevant !!

Well, there’s no dock labouring involved.

To be fair around 260 miles is as far as anyone will get in 4.5 hours driving.
Loads of times with less than 5 minutes left, ended shifts on 8:59 and 9:55+

!
260mls divide by 4hr30 equals 57.8mph.
So with a speed limiter of 56mph…
.
.
260 miles isnt being fair. It
s cheating.
PS. Met a driver who was fired for doing over 900km in a shift…
I asked how that could be legal, as 90kph for 10hrs obviously gives 900km max?
“Ah well”, he said, “I only know I wasn`t running bent”…
Yeah… Right…

You missed the bit that one of the two wagons we used on the run ( DAF 2300 ATI rigids with a generally light close coupled trailer 16 speed and geared to perfection ) still wasn’t fitted with a limiter and I only went that far if the Scotch was running late and I was driving the ‘right’ one of the two wagons.
Bearing in mind early-to mid 90’s was a grey area regarding limiters. They were only being introduced at that point and more trucks than not were still running at old school speeds without them.
6hr46!
Can you call that a weekly break, and just Keep Going?
.
Good memories, but glad they aren`t gonna be repeated!
I’ve had a couple of instances where I’ve finally found somewhere to park after negotiating road closures on a night trunk on 4.29,never happened since I’ve been doing days though, absolute joke trying to get in anywhere for a break on nights.
Does this mean I’ve done 9 hrs 48 ? And what’s the other time mean ?
I’am not used to these new tacho s .

Looks like the tacho of a Romulan or Clingon starship. It obviously means something so it’s a tacho Dan but not as we know it.Is that light years travelled or is it hours or a combination of both.

1 hr 17 mins driving since your last 45min break
I would also like an answer about the 9 48.
I know it’s ■■■■■■■■■■ driving time but over a day week or fortnight?

There is a bit of variation between makes and years with displays.
The tacho print outs are generally easier to read than the screens.
When in doubt, do a printout, and compare that to what is on screen. You`ll soon get to see what is meant by the display on your own tacho, by comparing that to the printout.

2 weeks’ driving time. That’s what those two vertical lines next to the “steering wheel” icon mean.

I did think that. But was hesitant when it was only 9 hrs (and I’m not working today)
Don’t forget it only shows what’s on the driver’s digicard. I think some of Dan’s lorries have old style analogue tachos with paper charts.
