As I got on the M42 from Brummingham Airport, the matrix signs said Long Delays. As I got to the M6, the traffic wombles were putting out the cones and telling people to do one.
So like an absolute bellend, I spun it around at Tamworth and proceeded to get a 6hr working infringement sat in traffic, I just couldnt find anywhere to park. Bugger.
Put it on break then
Letâs say you started duty at midnight and you got stuck in traffic at 14.50. Regardless of breaks, donât you have to take a daily rest period 15 hours after start of duty? I had the same problem near Tamworth and went over WTD time before I could find somewhere to stop. At least thatâs what my TruckerTimer app told me.

Stuck in the services @ corley for 3 and a half hours cause of that, it was crazy⌠Only poped in for a quick pee, came out and everybody had stopped! Another one of our drivers came in not far behind me and our planner rang (after we told him traffic was stand still) after an hour and said you to have been there for a long time, wot are you doing? Lol⌠Bless him! It was interesting watching artics spin round on the m-way⌠Its tighter than it looks it would seem!
Aaaaah ! so your on for Premier then â â ? I was just in front of you, but i came to a standstill just outside the exit gate to the services⌠This is me just being told to turn round by a hobby bobby

On rupturing such a tank, the released HCL whilst still dry will rise and disperse as a toxic gas cloud.
Hi Winseer,
As I said above, Iâm no chemist⌠but, are you sure that the released gas would rise?
According to another MSDS, that gas has an SG (air = 1) of 1.268 , or am I barking up the wrong tree?
http://encyclopedia.airliquide.com/Encyclopedia.asp?GasID=17
It will diffuse towards the moisture. If itâs raining, or damp, that will be towards the ground. If itâs windy with higher cloud, it will disperse upwards.
Oxygen has a higher SG than 1.0 as well, and tends to hang around near the ground but can also diffuse a lot higher given the right weather conditions.
The pics of this accident imply drier conditions than might have actually been the case during the cleanup. The 1km exclusion zone implies that there was serious concern about airbourne diffusion taking place, rather than just contaminating any local low-lying water. It probably didnât do trees and bushes nearby any good, but the evidence of that might not be noticed in the flora for days afterwoulds.

Hi Winseer,
Thanks for that, youâve given an insight that I wouldnât normally have considered.
I was listening to this on Radio 2 as it was happening I felt really sorry for everyone.

Why is it always a Tanker or Hazadous Load, why cant it be lorry load of Teddy Bears.
Itâs like when thereâs a disaster in Yankee Doodle Dandy Land ie; New York, thereâs always a FED EX Lorry or Van in shot
(is there a conspiricy going on ?)
Got caught for 6 hours on the M6 a few years ago during the Mad Cow Panic. A Tanker carrying âCows Bloodâ was leaking, so the authorities parked it on the hard shoulder & proceeded to make a nice Lake of Cruetzfeldt Jakob Disease all over the road. Must have cost Millions to the transport industry to have all those vehicles parked up. Why couldânt they drive it off to the next junction & deal with it there & just get a couple of road sweepers to clean/wash it up off the motorway.
Joking aside, I hope everybodyâs ok.
Itâs usually a Fed Ex truck that caused it
That pic above was from Texas and is only a few weeks old. Hereâs the rest of that story;
