Coop, he was one of my favourite actors along with Ray Liotta.
If you haven’t seen Unlawful Entry with Ray in it, I can highly recommend the film.
Lord Tebbit
On yer bike.
I only get that cause it was referenced on the radio last night
You are young grasshopper but you will learn
That statement makes feel very old
Mr Blobby, aged 54, accidentally deflated today at 05.45 am at Reading railway station.
No flowers or cards please.
I know what you mean.
“He got on his bike…etc” was 1983, and the Brighton bombing was 1984.
Forty odd years ago, and to be aware of it at the time, one would have been at least ten years old? So (almost) anyone under fifty years old would be ignorant of what to us was important.
And ain’t coppers young theses days?
I remember Brighton very well, I was in the Territorial Army at the time. I stopped with a soldier involved in a RTC a few years back, took all his details for the incident form, asked where he was based and he replied Fallingbostel, I replied my last posting before civvy Street was Fally, casually looking at his ID card, then looked at him and said, “before you were born!!!”
Before the M25 was constructed, the authorities discussed implementing a ring of steel around London as they spoke of a fully laden lorry with explosives on board or a dirty bomb made out of fertiliser to attack important buildings in central London, the plan was to use ANPR cameras.
Recently we have seen in MSM about artics being stolen to be used in attacks at Christmas markets in Europe.
The chief advisor from London who specialises in anti-terror measures told Bath council to implement a ring of steel in the city so they spent 8 million on concrete bollards, security guards and automatic bollards to withstand the force of only a 3.5 ton lorry and not a 44 ton articulated lorry, I told them about that but I was ignored.
After 17.30 the bollards are lowered to expose the vulnerability of the city for a potential atrocity to occur.
There’s a massive quarry locally that made the news a long time ago as the IRA were active in the area to steal TNT dynamite from the quarry and other equipment to make explosive devices.
Connie Francis 87
Wyn Davies 83. Ex Newcastle utd centre forward. Better known as Wyn The Leap. Could reach a ball head and shoulders above anyone else.
First centre forward I remember at Newcastle as a kid…
Think he captained Wales ?
Think he had 30 plus Welsh caps but not sure if he was ever Captain. As well as Toon he played for Wrexham, Bolton Wanderers, both Manchester clubs and Blackpool. Remember seeing him play for Bolton at St James in the Division 2 title match Easter 1964.
When he retired from the game he worked as a baker.
