Gerd Muller ‘der bomber’…one of Germany’s greatest footballers.

Celebrity?
Really?
I could think of many words to describe a football player, Celebrity is not one of them.

Maybe so.
But many more are worthy of mention and remembrance than mere “celebrities”.

Comedian Sean Lock. Cancer aged 58. I really rated him too.

He was fantastic and one of the best alternative stand ups.

A celebrity is somebody well known usually in entertainment or sport…as you know btw.
Just because you don’t like football does not make a famous footballer a non celebrity.
At least he’s famous for a skill rather than these dregs off the like of TOWIE or Big brother and such dross who are total nonentities.

Of course I don’t like football, I support Scunthorpe United FFS.

It will only be the end of The Stones after Mick Jagger’s day I reckon.

RIP Charlie.
I know nothing about drumming but you can always tell his own personal style and technique unique to him…personified in the introductions in tracks such as ‘Undercover of the night’ and ‘Start me up’ especially.
Have a listen and you will see what I mean.

Back in the early sixties when I was growing up in Reading I was cycling down one of the country lanes and came across The Stones car broken down. It was a Ford V8 Pilot painted purple with alloy cycle type mudguards instead of the original bulbous ones and the reg number was KAR 365. Mick and Keith were delving into the engine, Charlie, Bill and Brian were still inside. I stopped to look at them; “Why dont you f off kid” Brian shouted at me…so I did! They were regulars in the Reading area, their fan club secretary lived in the town and Mick had started seeing Marianne Faithful who was also brought up in Reading. I’ve always been a fan.
