[If you mean Warwick rd mate it certainly DID flood last time.
A bit of a generalisation to imply they are all on benefits.
Afaik most of the houses in that area are privately owned, and desirable properties, owned by …‘hard working people’
Haven’t a scooby who or what Brighthouse is mate, you’ve got me there
Reckon 109LWB’s on about his area, not Warwick Road. I didn’t know who Brighthouse were either, had to Google it. Household goods on weekly terms at an extortionate APR apparently.
Drove through Warwick Rd this afternoon on the way back in. Damaged gear was piled up on both sides all the way along in readiness for a mass disposal overnight tonight. Sad sight, wouldn’t wish that on anybody. As for the folk of Glenridding, I don’t know who they’ve upset but they were hit twice in 4 days. I’d say the damage done in the County as a whole last weekend is a lot worse than that of 2005 and 2009 combined. A lot of infrastructure gone.
Somebody said the Eden Bridge is closed.
Last week on the news reports, I saw people walking across it without a care.
I thought then about the bridge at Workington that collapsed last time, killing the Policeman. That bridge, like the Eden, stood for generations, who would have thought then that it would just go, the Eden bridge could have gone the same way.

Eden Bridge is still shut, to ALL traffic. Divers can’t inspect it until at least Monday, if the water level/flow falls enough, and given the amount of crap that went under it I’d be surprise if it’s unscathed.
Workington bridge was a shock. What didn’t help at the time was that the other bridge into town was shut for ages before they got round to repairing it. Didn’t stop folk staggering over it to save a 50 quid/20 mile taxi after a night out though.
Pooley Bridge stood for over 250 years; Eamont Bridge is shut (again); the only way to Patterdale is over Kirkstone Pass; can’t get to Ambleside from the north; only today 2 more bridges were closed following inspection, one being on the main Brampton-Alston road…gonna be a long winter for a lot of folk.
It amuses me. On one hand you have someone slagging Stobarts off for not helping and you also have someone slagging them off in case they help. Some pathetic ■■■■■ on here.
And as for Toby. Jesus, I used to laugh at your posts. After that post I now think you are thick bell end.

Errr wasn’t really ‘slagging them off’ HS mate (although I admit I aint their no.1 fan)
Ok I may be a ■■■■, that’s down to opinion … but pathetic?
I just told what I was told from the horse’s mouth.
The lad I talked to was a Carlisle lad who had been flooded, and he brought the subject up.
He was comparing like for like, his Mrs worked for Tesco, who gave her time off unlimited within reason (with pay) to clear up and get sorted ( not to mention a free trolley of provisions from the in town store) but when he asked for a couple of days off he was told no, but they compromised on unpaid leave.
To add insult to injury the new TM allegedlly reviewed all the Xmas hols, and he was told his booked fortnight had been changed to Xmas day, and Boxing day only despite his protest about the mess they were in, and time needed to sort it.
(Update was he was starting another job on locals.)
Not just Stobbys either I would think, most Transport firms are the same…a bunch of uncaring arse holes, difference is the others do not pretend in pr terms not to be.

I agree with you, well said why do they do that, kick people when they’re down.
Happysack, thanks for calling me a thick bell end, I am actually thick as a plank, hence why I drive trucks.
You have missed the point of my post of moving stock to a higher level or alternative facilities if you had ample warning of floods and bad weather on the way, the Bbc bulletin gave enough warning
Yours sincerely Trucknet Toby thicko of the year.
