I think that one was caused by this ‘stop - start’ (seriously though) technology thing to save fuel…

I like the old school transporters with the massive over hang over the front of the cab. Would love to drive one of them.

Can always remember seeing one of these in Wolverton when I was a kid, the guy set off from the lights turned right and stuffed the peak into somebodys front wall of there house.

Sir +:
Anybody remember the one that spilt a load of Jags quite close to the factory -'80s was it?

This one was in Oban Rd Coventry, happened in the 90’s

One that collapsed ,with Range Rovers on the top, just as I was about to step under it, to strap them on, managed to drive them off at that angle without any damage to the cars, the 2 that were on the front were driven over on to another T/sporter, which can just be seen backing up to me. this happened in Land Rover. although these pics were taken at our depot.

When you look at that trailer design, it really was very greedy to put that extra car carrier on the front.
Look at it, its obvious its an after thought like a coffin sleeper.
You can bet the person who thought of it had never, and never did, drive one.
Love to know how the first driver ever to go out on the road with one of those got on.

Where’s Shrek? He used to write some good tales of days out on the road with transporters?

They use wheel straps now? What happened to chains to the body pulled down to stop them bouncing?

Many years ago (30+) once rode on the top deck of a loaded transporter to watch him under a low bridge.
I was working for a main Ford agent in Preston. They were supposed to deliver to the storage compound at Factory Lane, Penwortham but you’d get an odd one would come up Marsh Lane (which was/is one way) looking for the garage, which was just the other side of the bridge here:

That’d be Tolemans I think.

What’s happened to Bowserman’s image? I just hit quote. Is this a glitch in the new server?
