Car in a foot of water, would you call the fire brigade

Mate of mine is a retained firefighter. They get called out quite regular to cars /vans stuck in a ford just outside his town.

All they do is turn up, make sure everyone is safe, and call recovery!

When I asked him why they dont help pull the cars out, he said “I’m not putting my guys in potentially harms way, just because some idiot cant read the singn telling them there’s a ford ahead with an alternative route posted”

Here ya go:

There’s a pic too if you scroll down through the comments. Water doesn’t look to be even 1/2 way up the wheels. Bet he entered at some speed thus drowning the electrics.

(Does that link page not display correctly for you too?)

Strange that it doesn’t seem to appear in either Hants Fire & Rescue, or Lyndhurst or Brockenhurst recent incident log.

I was waiting for two rescue helicpoters to fly in to assist, and all the occupants draged out on spinal boards,i wonder how much the fiasco costs for the tax payer? Why no sniffer dog,in case of bodies floating down the river, with fatal results in a foot of water.
