Can You Help With Logistics Project?

I have spent quite long enough on the road. Still do a bit weekends and holidays but no intention of ever going back to living in a lorry.
Everybody I know is trying to get out, the job is over.
There are lots of ways to cut down smuggling but if they are not in the governments interest they will not be implemented, it is about money and votes, if there is no smuggling how can you stamp down on it to impress the electorat. I used to cut open sealed strange looking boxes to check what was inside but yes, you never know for sure what you are carrying and one time when french customs found I had empty boxes on, I thought I was in big trouble but thats all it was, empty boxes! (just a few of them).
If rates DO NOT go up is everybodies fear, if EU transport companies cannot make a profit someone else will and then the industry is over - this is called “competition!”
P.S. Its University not college.
