Can you be fined for tacho speed.?

No, plus it doesnt prove where you were when you were speeding, you could have been on private property which has no speed limit

What do you mean it dose not prove where you are; they have evidence you where there on a time and date
Yes you can use you digital or analog tachograph as proof
As the speed camera will have photos of you registration plate to prove you where there

We are talking about being prosecuted for speeding on the evidence of the tacho alone at a later date.

bubsy06:
you could have been on a private road for all they know

how can you be on a private road
They have proof you where at the camera at a certain time and date

All the tacho is going to prove are the speeds you have done
The police have the rest of the proof as to where you where

WTF
If the coppers stop you on the SB M6 because your trailer lights are out and find you have done 61mph 20 miles ago then they cant prosecute you as they cannot prove what road you were on. If they caught you on camera they will not need your tacho as they will have the evidence of the camera software showing your speed and location

The TC has been keen on that one for many years, one of the reasons Abbey Hill Group were caught out, they were on it from leaving the depot, and they used flexible timekeeping.

But the question, Can you be fined for tacho speed? is still the same. The answer is NO

Sorry to upset you but NO they don’t, all they have is a photograph of a trailer with a vehicles number plate on it or a Cab with a vehicles number plate on it.

Lets say your buddy forgets to take his plate off when dropping a trailer and you forget to put your plate on when you pick that trailer up, your mate collects another trailer to deliver in Scotland so uses his spare plate, you go to London and deliver, it would take a very clever magistrate to find your mate guilty of speeding in London when he has proof and witnesses saying he was in Scotland, not in London.
