If you do 8 hours @ £15.25ph and 4 hours @ 18ph - then that amounts to £122+£72 per SHIFT, which if one does Monday-Friday is £980pw. That’s as close to a grand a week for 5 12 hour shifts as dammit.
You wouldn’t be able to do that every week across a reference period of course, but on agency you might get a grand one week, and a measely monkey for “only” 30-34 hours the next.

Right, I forgot about the overtime rate, I assumed sammym was on £13 p/h flat rate.

It is mate.
But I work both Saturday and Sunday (at a much better rate) - and also do 6 on 1 off, then 5 on 2 off. So it ups it a lot. Obviously I take advantage of POA a fair bit.
Not for everyone - but I’m just filling up the bank account after doing some travelling. Also I have dont 80 hour(ish) weeks on a supermarket. Loads of POA. And loads of sleeping in a cab waiting to be asked to drive as a spare. Was easy work but very boring.
