It’s true. The cabs are usually higher 
The only thing I can add to your question, if you’ve pulled around some cars (and are still travelling past a solid mass of cars) and someone appears at a junction, they have to wait (mercedes drivers won’t. They’ll usually pull in front of you, then have to reverse back).
