Calais to le-mans

hi can anybody help me in may we have a 18t lorry going to Le-mans from Maidstone,is it best to send it on the dover -calais or portsmouth-caen? also how long does it take from calais to le-mans? this is my first time making arrangments for the club and could do with some help thanks colin

Shortest/ quickest drive is Portsmouth Caen, Easy route, and can be done toll free,
Sorry…Just noticed you are in Maidstone. Calais then! 263 miles from Calais-Le Mans.

I used to do the odd run down that way from Ramsgate. Used to go DoCal then along the coast down to Le Havre, over the bridge towards Caen then do a left turn. If I recall correctly, the only toll we paid was for the pont du Normandie

Done the Le Mans to Calais road 2 yrs ago coming back from Biarritz and its a bit long winded and I’ve done Le Mans to Caen route and that’s much quicker but like you said op is from Maidstone so probably Calais then especially with the shorter and cheaper crossing.

Calais is the only sensible route, it’s shorter,quicker and cheaper than driving to Portsmouth and taking a 6 hr expensive ferry crossing.

Agree, from Maidstone it is a no-brainer. Dover-Calais.

Off the top of my head, Le Mans is about a six hour drive from Calais. Go via Rouen, Evreux, Dreux etc.

I often go Rouen-Alencon, tolls not too bad on that one.
