Spot on, remove the ‘pull factor’. These people are in France, a perfectly safe country with no war or famine but still they want to come here, surely someone in government must be asking WHY!
Many of these scumbags are economic migrants…none are vetted as to whether they are genuine or not, no health checks either. So i wonder what happens to those who get into the uk, without a check, those who hop on hop off at the dartford tunnel, the services etc, do they hand themselves in to the police ? Whatever they do, wherever they are found, they must be deported as undesireables…they have to be told their asylum status can only be done from another country, that they will be required to find and fund their own acommodation…healthcare etc, and they wont be given a NHS number unless they are processed and approved…this is the message that must be sent to stop more from coming, there must be more stringent checks…more fast speed asylum claims…and immediate deportation for failures, this could take time as there also needs to be an agreement from wherever theyre from…Algeria, Somalia, Afghanistan, Iraq, etc…but there should be help for the genuine refugees from syria…but how do we tell if theyre genuine or isis…that is the question…but according to reports i have read…isis fighters returning will be offered housing, money, and a nice letter asking them not to harm us…you couldnt make it up…deport those who have become traitors, and chuck out their families too, as sure as hell they have known where their relatives have been.

They get a few minutes to get under the trailer chassis ir in through the roof etc etc. They’ll expect most to be found but sometimes maybe twenty will hide and maybe eighteen found? If you jump out to clear the road remember to lock doors. Better off staying in the cab. Police willbe along sooner or later, it’s not the middle of a desert. Many carry knives to cut side or roof sheets.

They said “you think you are exempt because you are English?”
My reply " you only check the trucks that are solid and secure because you know that you won’t find anything , then you don’t have to deal with illegals "
We were in a solid bodied truck that had been sealed by German customs with paperwork says checked and sealed. We were a company with accreditation from British Border control and operated a no stop exclusion zone of 75km around the channel ports and tunnel.
All the soft sided trucks parked up near the ports rarely have locks or seals on them and are waved through all the checks .
Most of the cost of the security around Calais and the Tunnel is paid for by the UK tax payer .

If arrested in Calais, who pays for processing the migrants and pays for their repatriation if necessary?

I know the UK does pay toward security costs around Calais, it’s in our interest to keep the port open, of course. Should we invest more now to sort out the problem sooner?
By actually sending more migrants back won’t we discourage more from attempting illegal entry? Those with right of legal entry? No problems, but spend more up front to discourage the illegal ones.
The agreement we have with France to have our border control on their land is a bilateral one isn’t it? Not an EU one. Is there a time limit on it? What happens if/when it ends? The controls eould come back to the UK mainland. OK some will say it’ll be the ferry companies responsibility for security then; if so how much will a ticket cost?? Not a realistic option really.
I’m not giving any easy cheap solutions here. There aren’t any quick fixes or they’d be used already.

This is not France fault just.Most fault it is Uk border agency poor checking.I cross Dover plenty time .Was stopperd for extra checking but all checking absolutely poor.Plus they must check truck with dock before passport control.Before passport control no space to stop and chsck trailers.But after passport control if drivers found migrant that same penalty.
