Ca you work whilst you have a sick note

I was under the impression you couldn’t ( insurance etc) so how would you stand if they said they wanted you to do a alternative job , I’m thinking legally , what would happen if you were deemed not fit for work by doctor and accident etc happened

Under the SSP act of 1903, you are legally eligible to work. Section 13 (1a) subsection 2(c)it states a driver is legally allowed to get a sick certificate, and is able to work for a secondary employer.

Section 32(c) them goes on to state if first employer finds out he must authorise and give holiday pay sick pay and a bonus for said driver.

Section 30747, the clause is the driver must be willing to do a 15 hour shift on a Friday, and be reasonably expected to be away from home when the boss calls his wife to find out where the driver is.

Basically, it means crack on
