Hi CC, Cracking pic of Billy Cappers Merc’s, have you any more? Reason i ask i can remember Bill’s Big J’s tipping at the Mill in Wolverhampton, i would be about 7 or 8 year old and my Dad and myself would watch them back in to the weighbridge yard,it was a horse and cart place,it required a fair few shunts and the poor drivers kept having to build the air back up as the compressor could not keep up with the demand! I presume the pic is took in Bill’s yard in Wellington, i have been after a few pic’s of Cappers for a long time and then two turn up in a week, i put one on the Shropshire thread which i will attach below, Cheer’s Pete

Yes that image was shot in Cappers depot , but i was quite young at the time, so my details are rather scant .

Hi CC, I reckon there is 9 or 10 years between those photo’s as the photo with big J’s in the Merc is new but your pic there is a 1625 next to it on a y reg, this truck i think was driven by Norman (RIP) can’t remember his surname, Cheer’s Pete

Hi CC, Yes that is one of Cappers probably going to tip in Bibby’s in Ennerdale Road by the test station,they got cover on donkey engine i reckon it is a briggs and stratton engine as i cannot remember a cover on the Lister’s, also Capper’s had a Merc 6 wheel bulk blower in Bibby’s colours, that nice green and yellow,Cheer’s Pete
