Busy Mr Trump

Who is calling on them to help this frequently?

“it does embrace freedom you just have to go there legally and abide by the laws of the country and state. free speech etc is still allowed unlike here soon.”

Trump is trying to have his critics in the media silenced. Strangely enough I see that he is ignoring court rulings now. So is he adhering to the laws?

“as i said above it is allowed how many americans have been arrested for speaking their minds. How many british have been”

Mahmoud Khalil is the most recent. So much for free speech.

“no law is above the body that makes them.”

What is the point in having laws then. It is the people, or their representatives that make the laws. Do I have the right to do as I please as I am part of the law making process?

“why should they buy in goods that they are capable of making. Do you order takeaway every night or eat in restaurants every night or do you cook your self a dinner because you have the necessary skills. This is precisely what is wrong with this country. we have allowed all skills to be outsourced to Europe until all that is left is a service industry. One thing goes wrong and the whole lot collapses (covid).”

Wow, let’s do away with restaurants and takeaways. Let’s go back to the start of civilisation and all become hunter gatherers again.

They can allow them to have a vote, but whichever way it goes, they won’t be allowed to leave.

BTW, California is considered somewhat left wing in US terms, I have heard it called Commiefornia more than a few times.

Thing is mate I don’t really bother much about hypothesise and ‘‘what if’‘s’’ (maybe apart from ‘‘what if’’ I won a mill on the lottery :joy:) it’s a bit pointless.

Thing is I don’t think a nirvanic socialist world where everyone is charitable to each other, and who put’s themselves last over everyone else has ever existed…maybe apart from in the bizzarelly deluded and naive minds of those on the 'far left .

Realworld/Real Life aint like that as I am sure you know yourself.

So they are effectively prisoners in the land of the free.

I don’t want a world were everyone goes around with happy smiling faces either. What I would like is a world were we show compassion to our fellow men and women irrespective of race, creed, colour or anything else that offends so many people nowadays. The masses have been manipulated by the social media barons for profit and power. Musk wants to send humans to Mars. WTF for, there’s nothing there. Why can’t he spend his gazillions on projects that actually benefit mankind instead of his ego. Does Trump seriously think that detaching the US from the rest of the world is actually in their interests. What next if he gets his dream of a country of the USA, Mexico and Canada all living together in harmony in Trumpland (why not he’s changing everything else). The possibilities are endless and none of them are good.

Oh! Dear, The Fake Tan Tyrant won’t like this. Supreme Court rejects Republican-led effort to halt climate change lawsuits in Democratic-led states

Yeah like I implied, I do not have you down personally as one of the ‘‘naive’’ and '‘deluded’ .

I agree with a lot of what.you said there..especially the bit’s pertaining to '‘good’.
I don’t agree with some of the other stuff as you may have guessed.:grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

Rather than itemise and discuss it all, suffice to say it comes under the heading of what I said in my first reply…Real life, real world,.and what I come to expect because of that.

If it wasn’t for the irony, I’d agree wholeheartedly.

Certainly are, as I said before the costliest war, in terms of Americans killed ever, was to make the point that state’s rights did not extend to secession.

And especially this President isn’t going to start the process in his term.

Unlike our Union, we allow anyone to leave if they want to, and there are some, Hungary, Slovakia, we’re looking at you, who we’d actually open the door for them to return to Uncle Vlad’s nirvana. :joy:

It’s certainly contradictory that a country that came about because of an amalgamation of, at the time, separate entities refuses to allow these same entities the choice of whether or not they wish to remain a part of the “united states”.

Trump has deported more than 200 members of Tren de Aragua, a Venezuelan gang linked to kidnapping, extortion and contract killings.

They are now being held in a supermax prison in El Salvador.

C’mon, please tell me how this is a bad thing! Go on, let the bile flow freely, you’re among friends here :+1:

I personally don’t have any issues with this. As long they are who Trump says they are then they deserve to be kicked out. It’s like here in the UK when someone young is convicted of carrying a weapon and they claim in court that they were “carrying it for a friend” but they’re not prepared to say who that person is. Well, if you’re stupid enough to carry it then your too stupid to be left to your own devices in society. I was born and brought up in a Glasgow housing estate and if this had happened then you can be sure that whoever that “friend” was would have been dealt with on a local level. And not by the old Bill.

You know what it is Dennis? I suspect that you are of a similar vintage to me (I stand to be corrected) so I guess that you also cynically expect to be lied to on a daily basis by those who think themselves better than us. Nothing I’ve seen in the last 20 years especially will alter my view on that.

As far as Trump and his new best buddy Musk goes I’m totally ambivalent as to whether they flourish, wither, prosper or indeed die. I have no horse in that race.

What I am able to recognise though is a concerted media campaign to rubbish and belittle any achievements theyhave. The likes of Blackrock and the WEF are the cancer upon humanity who possess the means and wealth to influence society in whichever way they desire.

Is there some kind of Blofeld supervillain in a hollowed out volcano orchestrating this? Of course not, but there is a collective of power hungry and extremely greedy individuals who are attempting to bend the rest of us to their will.

Yep I agree.

And the usual type usually oblige…a la covid for instance .
Well as usual I will not be bent by any campaign or propaganda, I have my own mind as I know you have.

Granted I lapsed a bit in the preliminary first stage of covid, and I made no secret of it, but I think that made me even more astute in the use of my ‘‘b/s ometer’’. :smiling_face_with_sunglasses:

Don’t you think perhaps the first nations might like it if that had been actually true…
Or for those who love to erase the past as inconvenient truths, then at least give the first nations the right now to decide who comes to the US, instead of the orange moron unilaterally inviting a whole new bunch of right wing fascists who have been crying to mommy that they can no longer bully the other kids.

Seriously, the gall, the blatant injustice, it’s so unbelievable I really do think I must be in a parallel universe since 2016. What’s happening actually makes titler’s speeches (not actions - as yet) seem almost sane by comparison

Oh yeah so titler actually killed millions so we can’t compare the two. But titler didn’t kill millions until he had completed his power grab several years after starting to oh,
ban the opposition,
ban independent media,
restrict civil rights,
etc etc. There is a clear sequence, and a time when others could have acted to stop the virus, but didn’t.

You can’t stop a dictator when you’re banged up in a supermax security prison. You can’t speak out when there is no public speaking permitted. And once your property is seized, you can’t sell it and move away.

no law is above the body that makes them.

Presidents aren’t supposed to ever make laws. They are supposed to be the figurehead of a nation, a representative to glad hand with other figureheads. A symbol to rally behind. A notoriety public to open the new mall. trump is clearly wanting to be a dictator. He wants to make the laws up as he goes along to suit himself and his acolytes. And he certainly doesn’t want to obey any laws himself, laws are for losers.

why should they buy in goods that they are capable of making. Do you order takeaway every night or eat in restaurants every night or do you cook your self a dinner because you have the necessary skills. The missus is away all week at her moms. I’ve just set off the smoke alarm hence taking 3 hours to write this…

No. I do agree we have allowed… oh yes maggie ■■■■■■ thatcher to ruin industry in this country. a tory ■■■■■■ who used to kiss ass with another republican president called ronnie raygun. We could and should make a lot more here in the UK then we do.

But what is the real reason for our current spending patterns? Yes. Capitalist entrepreneurs who want to make a personal fortune and don’t give a efff about existing British businesses making and selling a widget. These wannabe billionaires see an opening and go all guns until the opposition are bled out and dead. They go to the Chinese manufacturers who for the sake of getting the business (and further de-stabilising western economy) happily undercut the British manufacturer for widgets - helped by lower quality, and very low pay for their own workers and terrible environmental regulations.

Mr “Besos” while wearing his make england great again hat (made in china) then sets up his distribution network based in a out of town warehouse that pays a fraction of the business rates that any high street store does. And with the help of amazon or fleabay or the others, he sells at low cost his cheap tat, then the UK manufacturer goes out of business unable to compete. And that folks is why we and the US buy from China instead of make it. Our own supposed patriots don’t extend their patriotism to business when there’s a fast buck to be made.

Trump has deported more than 200 members of Tren de Aragua, a Venezuelan gang linked to kidnapping, extortion and contract killings.

And how did trump know all of these people arrested for been in the gang, were in fact criminals (I fully accept that the gang violence (UK, US, Mexico and around the world) around the drugs scene is terrible and that needs sorting)
Oh, trump knows they are criminals because someone reported them (anonymously) and heh look, they have shaved heads like all gangbangers do:

One of the points we lot on the left of nazism keep returning to is this:
If those in power dismantle all the checks and balances that prevent those in power from doing whatever they want, to whoever they want, then it’s not just the guilty that get swept up in purges. People who are the victims of some stupid local dispute over parking space, someone who simply doesn’t like the look of someone else, someone who misheard a word said to someone else entirely different anyway but takes umbrage. They get reported by the maga faithful who have brains like a 5th grader. Then swept into a system from which there is no return.

Consider how many people on deathrow who were DEFINITELY ABSOLUTELY 100% GUILTY OF TERRIBLE CRIMES get pardoned decades later when DNA evidence PROVES their entire innocence and points at someone else. That is, those who weren’t executed first.

We need checks and balances. When despots rule, millions die. The endless objection and ridicule being poured over trumps and muskivite’s heads is justified and necessary. They’ve already demonstrated with repeated instances throughout their lives, they are douchebags.
If we bury our heads in the sand and say, nothing to do with us, someday it will be. But there won’t be anyone left to speak up. We speak up while it’s still possible to, in the faint hope people will see the facts. The facts. You know, the facts. As yet trump and muskivite haven’t managed to erase all their past felonys. They’re too busy trying to erase millions of US veterans, pensioners, organisations etc. But they will do soon enough. After they have sold out to putin.

As opposed to loyal CCP liking Communists.

I agree with you here. Trump does have some sane policies that I totally agree with. Take transgender athletes for instance where I have some “skin in the game” as folks like to say. I had my 2 daughters late in life (my youngest was born 2 days after my 50th birthday). Both of them have represented their country at gymnastics, my youngest also represented the UK and was part of a junior team that won a European gold medal (the first ever for Team GB at that level). The thought of some mixed up boy who has decided he wants to be a girl being allowed to compete in the same competitions (and use the same changing rooms) turns my stomach. As far as I’m concerned if you’re born with a c0ck and balls you take a p1ss in the male toilets. No ifs, no buts. If you want to dress up as a girl and call yourself Loretta instead of Stan then fire in there, I don’t care.

If you are a genuine asylum seeker who can prove that your life is danger then you should be treated with some compassion. However if you are simply wanting to gain entry into a country for a better life then get in the queue at the airport and enter legally. Again, no ifs or buts.

Regarding Musks desire to have the smallest government wage bill in history, again, I get where they are coming from. The problem is that every government department in every country is technically overmanned but slashing the head count won’t necessarily see a rise in productivity. I remember when I was in the Royal Navy during the 70’s reading a classified document that compared the efficiency of the workforces in the UK, USA and the USSR. The findings were that both the UK and the USA operated at about 50% and the USSR at about 25%. By this they meant how much they got out of their workforce in terms of productivity, quality, attendance at work etc. So, in order to get to a position where you had 100% efficiency you would need to have all of your workforce doing their work with no mistakes and never taking any time off work. It was estimated that, in a time of conflict, the UK and the USA could achieve an efficiency of 75% but the best that Russia could get to would be 50%. So no matter what you did there would always be a certain amount of inefficiency in the system. Musk seems think that he can eradicate this. He’s wrong, it can’t be done. All that will happen is that the workforce that remains after his cull will produce less per head not more. There’s no doubt savings to be made but his scattergun approach is, in my opinion, more about his ego than actual sensible management.

Trumps problem is that he thinks he alone has all the answers. He is the all powerful leader of the free world with a devoted following who will gladly suffer just top pander to his whims and eccentricities. He thinks he’s the smartest person in any room that he enters, but you can only achieve that if the only rooms you go into are filled with people who you have carefully selected for their lack of intelligence and slavish devotion. Real leaders fill the room with people who are smarter than them and learn from them. Trump is not a leader, he’s a bully who has worked out that by claiming the leadership of the Christian right (who are extremely powerful in the US) he can cajole people to worship at his feet. The US will wake up one day and say “what the hell did we do there”. We just have to make sure that as little as possible of the carnage he leaves behind makes it way over to our side of the pond.

As I said at the start some of his policies make complete sense but then again (invoking Godwins Law) the same was said about Stalin, Hitler and Mussolini. Trump feeds on headlines. However, in order to stay in those headlines he will come up with even more outlandish proclamations, like annexing Greenland and Canada. I’m just waiting for him to consider this his own personal Anschluss. For me the man is a danger to the world, a wannabe bully who turns away at the first sign of someone standing up to him (like Putin who is absolutely ripping the p1ss out of him). In the meantime he is set upon his scorched earth path. Like Violet Elizabeth Bott he’ll scream and scream, without actually achieving much of what he says he will. History will not judge him kindly.

That ship sailed when Thomas Jefferson failed to stop the hijack of the US Constitution.Which changed a Contra Federal group of Consenting Sovereign States into a Federal Collective.Abraham Lincoln then sealed the deal.

That’s how civil wars start. Now that would be an interesting turn of events.

On a serious note it’s possible that the reaction to Trumpism could be a coalition of states demanding secession. For years the US has survived on a pretty much bi-partisan form of government but it’s clear that those days are gone, perhaps forever. The forward thinking states are not going to let a bunch of red necks and religious nutters establish a dynastical government, no matter how much Trump would desire that. There will be a backlash to Trump soon enough. Whether it is big enough to topple him is another thing but I get the impression that given enough rope Trump will hang himself.
