on the year, sorry i assumed that was bleeding obvious given the link i gave gave the ytd (year to date) results. As well as the fact that i compared every other thing to a year.
I should of known better the loonies would show themselves up… its getting boring now though.
ok look the WHITE house has a brick facade it doesnt even line up properly lol
I fail to see (with anusenent) why some are getting their tampons twisted over alterations to the White House in Washington ……well tbf I do it s just frustration with Trump…(where the litmus test kicks in:joy:)
Unless you are all sentimental heritage anoraks of US historic buildings why would anybody in the UK even care beyond shrugging it off in surprise and wonderment.
I could understand it if it affected you directly, or even if Starmer made no 10 into a mosque, but other than that who would actually gaf… unless as I said it was the latest incarnation of hatred towards another country’s politician.
Seems like Trump is doing what a few other Presidents have done in the past apparentlly so nothing new it seems.
But let’s not take the negativity away from Trump, and spoil the Bleater’s amongst us enjoyment…..they all seem to have a dedicated affinity to the US Whitehouse.
Valid point @maoster.
Although the demolition of the East Wing is probably illegal it is not the most important thing happening in the US at the moment.
What about the deaths of 3 kids this year due to issues surrounding vaccines?
What? Repairing rotten woodwork? Expanding office space so that the building becomes more practical? Presenting plans for approval before starting any work?
Going forward with the agreement of the owners of the building?
From your link:
“While praised for creating a functional home and workplace, Roosevelt’s overhaul drew flak for discarding the original Victorian interiors in favor of a starker neoclassical style.”
“At the time, the addition faced little controversy because of its functional necessity and modest scale.” Roosevelt
“By 1948, decades of patchwork repairs, design flaws and war damage left the mansion structurally unsound, according to the White House Historical Association.” Truman
Breaking? News? As in something new?
“The agreements, signed on 25 August in Washington D.C., involve the purchase of 103 Boeing aircraft, 19 spare engines from GE Aerospace and CFM International, and a 20-year engine maintenance contract with GE Aerospace.”
EDit…And don’t worry too much the 13,000 thousand UK jobs with Airbus, the main competitor to Boeing look OK at the moment.
The 135,000 jobs created claim seems a bit OTT too. They currently employ 172,000 in all fields ie civil/defence/space. Are they really creating jobs or just keeping the civil ones? Would the company really shed all of it’s civil plant employees if they did not get this one contract?
I reckon the contract is a good thing for our competitors, but the benefits are being somewhat inflated.
