I made an error there, that is true.
So with our 1dollar (100 cents) aspirin.
If it is 10% less, it costs 90cents.
50% less it is 50cents.
90% less it costs 10 cents.
100% less it costs zero.
So, Trump is claiming more than 100% price cuts. He is claiming it will cost less than nothing to buy aspirins or whatever.
it is this simple i will try one last time to explain
if it costs me 10 cents to produce an aspirin and i want to make 1000% profit i would need to sell that aspirin at 0.1 * 1000/100 = 0.1 * 10 = 1 dollar. see how we multiplied by 1000% there? therefore i can reduce the price of that aspirin by 1000% ie 1 dollar / 1000/100 ie 100/1000 = 0.1 so im not paying anyone im just not making a profit im selling it at cost.
as everyone knows there is a big profit to be made in pharmaceuticals but joe public doesnt know exactly how much is on an aspirin and where the money goes ie how much to the drug company how much to the hospital… how much to the sales rep etc etc
Rather than saying these drug companies are making x% and the hospitals are making y% etc etc which would cause the yanks to have a melt down and start rushing around boycotting the companies or hospitals etc etc he has said he will cut the cost.
