this is off topic slightly but a honest question if not a silly one. If someone like your self has done their time and left can they be called back up if needed with no choice for x number of years after.
When I left the navy in 1979 I had to do 3 years on the reserve list. My 3 years finished one month before the Falklands crisis kicked off. My last posting was serving on the staff of the Flag Officer First Flotilla and it was this staff that was in charge of the campaign, so I was a bit nervous for a short time until I received a letter from the naval drafting division that my reserve service had ended and I was no longer liable to recall. That letter arrived on the same day that the task force left.
