I hope we do get some good deals from Trump, but I am not holding my breath.
I suspect that what he would describe as a good deal, would be good for him, and possibly even the US, but bad for the UK.
And any deal he signs is likely to be ripped up when the winds changes anyway.
Not someone to trust in any way at all.

The US has both made loans to and given aid to Ukraine. When it gave aid it was just that: a gift.
Now Trump now seems to be after repayment, as well as carving up Ukraine with the invader Russia.
No such thing as a free dinner.
I’d expect any world leader to understand that basic premis.
Everything has a cost somewhere, but to make a gift, and later to demand payment is not that.
It is a pure scam.

If you give *aid" to a country you are making a gift. The US has done that, and It has also made loans etc.
Trump is seeking to turn aid already given into a repayable loan.
If aid is given with no contract to repay it at the time, but a repayment is later asked for, I call that a scam.
If I give a penniless Big Issue seller a fiver, and later after he has spent it on a sandwich and coffee, ask for it back, I reckon that is wrong.
