Couple from Polyrus.
It wouldn’t go under the telephone wires at the gate!
I doubt it would survive the passage of some satellites.
We’ve had bigger than that down here, driver.
The driver probably collects third-storey balconies as a hobby ![]()

There is a lot more about this batch of buses here along with some interesting stuff about the problems of operating an ageing bus fleet:
That was an interesting read Cav . I remember most of the buses mentioned my favourites being the MKV Regents. We very rarely got them on our route due to trolley buses being favoured. When they were phased out Atlanteans and Leyland half cabs were the order of the day. Then the Scanias oh dear and it made the local news when they arrived.Other big news was the building of the Interchange the biggest in England. Then a few years on they chopped it in half and the underground garage was moved to another new build garage approximately half a mile away on Bowling Back Lane. It’s amazing how blaze councils are with other peoples money. They did exactly the same with the central police station
This illustrates the Scania Metropolitan’s issues with constant changing up and down on a gradient.
A shame really because MD60 is a lovely vehicle and a Real Credit to Paul Almeroth
You would think that when Bradford got the Scania demonstrator they would have noticed the constant up and down changes. The whole idea of a demo is to evaluate and Bradford is full of hills. Parts of Lincolnshire and Norfolk would have been ideal for them.Having said that they were nice to ride on when we used them
