One from your neck of the woods ws

tyneside:
This Routemaster is in regular service at the Cruise Ferry terminal Halifax Nova Scotia
Tyneside

RML 2664 last ran in 2004 on route 7 East Acton to Russsel Square. ■■■■■■■ powered, the picture shows that it still has its Ensignbus triangle badge on the grille and the refuelling electronic tag beside the fuel tank. It appears to have had a driver’s side passenger door conversion in bay 4. This is the only sensible place since there is nothing mounted between the body panels and the B frame externally and it clears the wheelarch and the longitudinal bench seat internally. The notice to drivers on the windscreen reminds them that the flywheel will overheat if the bus is left in gear for too long when stationary. To overcome this the refurbishment program fitted a proximity switch alongside the 1st handbrake relay lever which triggered a timer to automatically select neutral after two minutes. Despite this feature, potential safety issues with the engine idling in gear with the handbrake applied caused significant complaints from the driver’s union and passengers when the buses were first repowered with the ■■■■■■■ engine.

Three great pictures. If I was reversing the Wilts & Dorset single deck Bristol bus, I would have parked it parallel between the white lines.

Me too! And I would have straightened the front wheels as well. Having said that: he has cleaned it top to bottom. I would only have cleaned the glasswork and lenses. Horses for courses!

No idea what happened there,I just believe it was heading back to its depot or on special service, but what’s the make & model of this double-decker? Thanks.

The bus is a Bristol Chassis with bodywork by Eastern Coachworks of Lowestoft.
Its engine will be a Bristol or Gardner. Cheers, Ray.

Testing a double-decker’s tilt limits to 28 degrees was normally a task undertaken by using a special machine, but the cheaper method was to run it up the pavement and wedge the roof under a convenient shop to ensure it always passed. Shrewd lot in Lowestoft

Few buses / trolley buses from the North East

The chassis designation is KSW6B so I think that indicates it was fitted with a Bristol engine.

Just noticed that this has been posted earlier.

The last picture from Newcastle looks like a Guy BTX ." Happy Harold " From the Hastings & District fleet survives in preservation as an open top with Dodson body, fitted with a Rootes TS3 engine and makes irregular appearances.
