just a couple of points to note that may have already arisen but I am lazy not bothering to read the full thread lol…

  1. Maybe its 2400 pounds now due to the driver CPC now being in force for pcv’s, and

  2. most bus companies only offer an automatic licence, now I know that lots of coaches are autos now, but many are manual.

I started out on busses and progressed on to coaches. Daftly I did my manual licence upgrade (as I went down the bus company route) in a coach and I should have done my C instead as it would have automatically upgraded me DOH, never mind!!!

I enjoyed service driving in London as you dont deal with much money and the wages are reasonable, though I moved back home to the north east and after being “spoiled” on the south I hated it up north. One good thing is the rots system so you can plan around work start and finish times and days off. Late friday and saturday nights arn’t much fun mind!

Passing your test in a company bus will only entitle you to drive automatics.
That limits you severly to the sort of work you can do.meaning a large Co.1 is likely to be as bad as another,being tied in to them for a period of a year or more wont be much fun where as a stick licence means coaches and private hire work.possible tips.

Passing LGV C will upgrade PCV auto to PCV manual.
