i used to be on basic of 360 plus n/o of 22.50 and a % of what the truck earnt. i never went over 9hrs driving a day or had long days and used to clear about 550/ 600 after tax so it can work in your favour. just depends on the places you load and tip tbh.
Why can’t companies just pay an hourly rate and that’s it? The pay slips of some of these places must look like an MPs expenses form.

When I come down the M1 there are loads of agencies advertising as you hit Northampton and MK and there are loads of RDC’S in that neck of the woods
You are better off trying to get something by going agency to perm rather than let this clown take the pee out of you, that money is garbage. So if his truck earnings can make £3500 he’s on top line £400 + £300, £700 not bad for a weeks work!!!
Yep agree with that sounds decent bulker money to me there’s a lot worse out there

Simple enough, just total the amount the truck earned and work out the percentage. In my case if it earned for example £1000 then my wage was £270 less deductions (27% I was on, 6 wheel rigid) so it was easy enough to calculate.
Pete.

Or Day rate, I don’t like hourly. I turn up ready to use what hours I have legal to use, if the boss cant find enough work to use them all. then thats his look out

yeah 20% over 200020% of everything earned over 2000 or 20% of profit made over 2000?
To be honest I doubt there’s 20% profit in running bulkers.
Confident are you■■?
Not confident, just going by what GP most businesses are working on at the moment.
Anyone walking away with £20 clear profit from every £100 earned is doing very well and good luck to them.

Yeah I can see that being an issue, but the last hourly paid job that I had, they’d park you up on 10 hrs on a night out, say 4-5pm, then have you start at 7am the next day. Now that would’ve been great at base, but as you might know at base, it was scrapping around til late, and them wanting you away at sparrow ■■■■. I’d want a minimum 12-13 hr day when on a night out then hourly might be in the picture again
