Building a shed

Mikey D:
Nice job  , looks well 'rustic 'an all :stuck_out_tongue:

Rustic was the idea from the start glad somebody cottened on

Insulation then boarding out.

Floor going down

Had 2 of these 117 amp batteries donated.

Rear view

Last one.
This week if I can fit it in I’ll insulate the sides and board them out same for the roof inside.
Need to sort some wiring light switches fuse box etc.
And a serious think about a flue .
Sorry again about photos .

Started on the inside insulation wiring etc.
Going to get stuck in sat and sun try to get it all boarded out inside.
Finish line is in site.

Picked up some more free insulation.
Got a lot of it up today.
Also managed to get some board on the walls.
Hopefully get it all insulated and boarded out Sunday.
Knackered after 5 days work then this on the weekend but it will be worth it.
Wiring is all in.
Few pics then off for a beer.

Got a bit more done today, ñot as much as I’d hoped as I’m knackered.
Few pics .

Been a bit of a grueller tbh boarding the inside out.
Getting there now.
Got a cupboard for free so going to use that to mount the sink and hob its got a roller shutter so I’ll leave that save making doors.
Few other jobs to do battery indicator fusebox etc.
Going to stain the inside and put a matt varnish on as a finish.
I might spray it green on the outside don’t know yet as I like the colour of the timber.
The end is in sight.

Great job!
You got me going and now I’ve started one down the garden.
Got the base frame done today.
Love your stove, where did you get the breather for it if you don’t mind me asking.?

Got a mate who works as a pipe fitter he made it up for me.
Way beyond my capabilities !
Put some pics up of your build always like a project.

Big push today finished the boarding out .
Have to say it was a testing time but you have to keep going.
Need to put a couple more weekends in to it and get it sited before we loose the light and the good weather.

Stripped the cupboard and gutted it and started thinking about the hob sink water etc.
I’m pleased with it and its going to be a great addition to my hobby.

Build cost up to now is around the £850 mark split 2 ways.
Although the scrounged donated found liberated bits have saved around £500.

Let’s see some of your projects surely someone has screwed something together.

Couple more pics

Had a good go this evening got a bit more done.
Got the sink in and the hob.
Lights wired up fusebox in.
Light switch done just needs mounting.
Battery indicator done.

Hob plumbed in and working.

It’s taking shape and going to plan.
Got a bit more scavenging to do need some angle iron, 12x12 stainless sheet.
4in stainless pipe for the flue.
Some paving slabs, I’ll round the bits up no doubt.

Got a weekends worth of groundwork to do but hey no crack on .
Enjoy.

Few more pics

Did a little bit more this evening.
Got the light switch and battery indicator sited.
Boxed in a wheel arch.
Got the tiles set up I am going to put them on the ply behind the log burner as well.

Managed to scavenge 3 Mt length of stainless for the flue.
And a 30in x 30in mild steel sheet.
5 cartridges of silicone.
And some treated 2x1.

I’m not doing anything to the shed Saturday.
Having a day away from it.
Back to it Sunday.

Few pics.

Just saw this on ebay and thought it might be of interest…

Nine and a half grand! I could buy a half decent motor home for that.
Sheds looking good by the way, could enter it for shed of the year. What size timber did you use for the roof, my garage roof is looking a bit knackered and I was thinking of replacing it with a pitched roof.

It did cross my mind to sell it harry, but its been 8 weeks of 7 days blood sweat and tears .
And its been for the enjoyment rather than a profit.

I’m looking forward to next weekend when it’s finished and sited.
It’s going to need a bit of fettling but it can be done on site.

Cracked on today with fabbing the flue etc which is all good.
Got to make a couple of brackets to hold flue against the side.
I’m going to insert some sheet metal behind the wany lap to stop it setting fire.
You won’t see any of the hole where the flue is coming out when I’ve finished it.

I’m going to use ruabon tiles on the inside behind the log burner to protect the ply.

I can’t fit the flue as my drive is 96 in wide and the shed is 94in ,so I’ll get it on the front next sat evening and fit it then .
Sun morning is going to be its maiden voyage.
I’ve took the weight of the stabiliser s and the tyres seemed OK.
I’ll get some air in them before I drag it down the farm with rangey.

Few pics from today.
