Build your perfect truck

there are lots of reasons people dislike the magnum, but it was big enough for two to double man in, not just a day run and home to bed, away most weeks all week, the steps were ideal to get out of the truck on the sardine ferry parking lanes, it had every thing you needed, cruise, air con, air suspended cab, but it was cheaper to purchase, cheaper to maintain, the only engine variant we did not have was the early Mack, but all the rest did exactly what was asked of them, whether in Italy and Spain in the heat or Sweden and Norway in the cold, (and the crawl on the M6 or M25) they were run at both ends of the weight scale empty and full load, my favourite was the pictured one, yes Volvo drive line, yes auto box, but i read the book and as such there were no problems with the transmission it did what it was asked to do, yes it did what i wanted it to do when i wanted it to do it, i have been in the truck during some of the disasters at roundabouts, junctions and the hairpin bends of southern Germany all because they think its automatic so they should not have to do anything, reality soon kicks in on a snow bound hairpin hill start with a full load on, oh and why does it say clutch overheating its automatic there is no clutch (well there wont be in a little while), for the company i worked for i think they did them proud, i was proud to drive them and enjoyed what i did, i saw most of Europe and it was not all plain sailing but the good bits far outweighed the bad, i have driven most things over the years good and bad but if you accept the vehicle for what it is and look after it they normally get you home, as they say a good workman never blames his tools. i hope you all have a bit of a holiday, not so good for some trying to get home this year, try to keep your selves and others safe its better to arrive late than not at all,

next gen S Scania V8 is definitely best truck made till this day…perfect will become if they put in bed from MAN!

   Well…my first ever truck all those years ago was and it was my pride and joy! I actually rather like Actros, driven various after that and last time was a trip to Denmark in one of Broughtons

Christ! So Nolans did once run something that wasn’t a clapped out DAF!

My Actros has steadily grown on me; give it the i-Shift box and the seats out of my old Renault Premium and it would be better still.

That’s for work, though; for play, it’d have to be this. With a Detroit and a quad box of course.

Why on earth would you ditch a Thermodyne for a lawn mower engine?

Why on earth would you ditch a Thermodyne for a lawn mower engine?

The noise. No other reason.
