Those Holmes pics bring back some memories .A trailer was loaded and dropped on the hill at the back of Holmeses yard but when the air dropped off went the trailer and ended up embeded in Greenbanks wall at the bottom of the hill and i think it hit a car too .Amazing even myself with what I find when ‘ratting’ through albums

That,s a while ago when
you took that photo Barry was it taken about 1996 ,it looks like a hot day too ,probably rushing to get the last load in ,i don,t miss it though early starts and late finish,s we used to do 4 load,s a day up to marshall,s and hundreds of gear changes ever day, going to italy was like going on holiday and just 1 load each way . I would think the salesman at Bramalls would be called Steve i cant remember his second name ,he sold Brian Holmes a brand new Leyland Marathon ,JCP 49W one of the last ones with a E290 ■■■■■■■ and i remember he was working at Bramalls when Clive Coleman was operating

Yeah thats right Les ,they were based at Saltaire ,my uncles ,cousin ,brother and dad all worked there for a time ,they were eventually bought out by John M Youngs
