BOC in the 50's - 70's

j_turner023:
Well it has been quite some time since my last post but things have really progressed. I couldn’t even start to list the work we have done since last time so I will let the photos do the talking. There are still quite a few little jobs to be done (including the “British Oxygen” sign writing) before we are properly back on the road, but after 4 years very hard work the end really does look like it is becoming a reality!

That’s a cracking looking lorry, I don’t know where you are but if you’re looking for a sign-writer who can actually paint the lettering or apply gold leaf I know of a good one in Hull

If it’s of interest pm me

That’s a cracking looking restoration, looking forward to seeing it finished, my old fella drove these out of BOC Teesport in the '60s and I went with him any opportunity I could, the interior shot really brings back memories for me especially if we were out in a two stroke, from setting off to stopping there was virtually no conversation!! Regards, Mizzo.

Many thanks! As it happens we already have a sign writer lined up who has done some pretty impressive work on a friends steam lorry, if anything happens however and I need another option I will be sure to get in touch! Many thanks again.

Thank you. It was supposed to be at Kelsall and then Duncombe Park this weekend but it has been in the paint shop so long we have just run out of time. We will get a few miles under its belt around home first and they first official outing is ■■■■■■■ Steam Gathering at the end of this month. We also have it booked in for the Trans Pennine with its lowloader in tow so that will be a good test!

Still got sign writing to complete but here is the almost finished product

That looks superb, brings back so many memories of riding in one of those with my old fella, I look forward to catching that at a show.

Hello, Good tough Crane Fruehauf low loader trailer, indestructable.

Most of the livery is on now in gold leaf as per the build sheet. Just the cab board to go now.

That looks spot on, well done.

Simply the best, It will certainly be well looked at, at the shows, Well done,Regards Larry.

Thanks. It really did end up better than we could have ever hoped. Just need some time and money to get the tanker trailer done for it now. (Ex castrol unfortunately so not quite the right shape but better than nothing).

If anyone sees us at a show please come and say hi!

Jon
