Hi probability of this being a terrorist attack I think…(hope not)… there has been a lot of this type of thing in Israel .
That’s how rumours start.
Even rumours need to be a little credible or knowone passes then on.
I appreciate that and I know the poster was just thinking out loud. I just meant there was no basis to start talking about terrorists etc without any knowledge of the facts.
I was just aware of incidents in Israel and recently Canada ware plant and vehicles had been used as weapons by terrorists , glad it wasn’t the case not that it makes any difference to those poor families . terrible news it really is
According to an eye witness on BBC News a moment ago he said… “He was in Greggs and the lorry demolished the traffic lights outside the door of Greggs and travelled 300 yards on the pavement all the way down to the hotel at the bottom of the street”. Tragic!
News reporter on Sky was ■■■■■■■ me off, got a fella for interview who was clearly distressed who saw it happen and he just kept digging for answers even though the chap was saying," I don’t know what else to say" he’d then ask," can you describe the carnage you saw?" And, " how fast was the bin lorry going?"
Show some respect FFS!
If I was that driver and had killed and injured so many albeit by having a medical incident I am not sure what state of mind I would be in knowing I had survived and others had not …

It was a tragic RTA, and you can’t help feeling sympathy and empathy with the people involved and their families, especially being as young kids were involved.
However you can’t blame people jumping to terrorist related conclusions when this sort of thing occurs, with these Muslim fanatic head cases around, especially when something of said nature happened in Dijon France this morning, ie nutcases in a car running down pedestrians shouting ‘‘Allah Akhbar’’ out of the window.

Absolute tragedy People of Glasgow must wonder what they have done wrong to have somthing like this happen after the police helicopter tragedy was it last year? RIP to all those who have died and the thoughts go out to their families and everyone in Glasgow.

Latest report suggests the driver had a heart attack.
If that’s the case then unless the driver had a previous history of heart attacks and ignored the symptoms and / or was not taking his medication then unfortunately the way the UK Law is (Currently) the injured people and family of the bereaved will not be able to claim from the council and / or their Insurers.
Although in a high profile case such as this the council and / or their Insurers may decide to make payments.
This may be the case which prompts a change in the law
Awful thing to happen so close to xmas and can’t imagine the pain and suffering all those affected families are going through both this xmas and every xmas from now on
Not being familiar with the set up for work crews on those, but would there not be more than 1 person in the cab??

I think that depends on the work, I believe residential still have a driver and a couple of operative, but commercial tends to be driver only.
