Bike Rack.

Hi All,
Does anyone no if they make a Bike Rack for the back of the Cab for a DAF XF 105 or any unit !!
A lock up and sealed case would be ideal , any ideas…
Thanks… :unamused:

Probably not/never seen one.

Never heard of one, but it is a good idea, in the past I have just taken the wheels off (the bike) and slung it on the bunk. Could be good on a summers evening (remember them) when you are parked up for the night, do a quick fifty and retire to your bunk with a sense of having done something good, and worked off the egg butties and pot noodles…

We talking metres or yards there?

Just put it in your trailer. Much cheaper option i’m sure. Although probably not an option if you are on tankers, tippers or containers.

Can you not use one as fitted to motorhomes?

Buy a folding bike. Job done.

Just put an ordinary rack on held with straps thats what i did on the back of a 105 :sunglasses: :sunglasses:

How about putting the rack on the front of the unit, then the bike wont get ruined with all of the road dirt that your wheels throw up.

Bungee cords and a bike lock also use something like those waterproof bike covers to cover your bike to prevent all the salt and crap spraying up onto your bike.

I had one made in the workshop that bolted to the airkit framework.

someone i know used to chain his bike to the framework for the landing legs on the trailer, never had a problem with it

Hi All,

Thank you for all your help

What about inside the top deflector, you think there is enough room up there?

Probably only if you drive a CF or FM with a low cab.

Probably be ok if you’ve got a quick release front wheel.

Dave i forgot all about you mate, i could not find that link on cartwrights website. But our deckers are due beginning of march so i’ll get some photos of the super singles and how it affects load space on the interior if you like.

No it will just get ruined by the road dirt that all the lorries you are following throw up

I knew a Denby driver who carried a full size road bike on the top bunk of his Scania.

Just proves how unreliable they are
