I start with these Wednesday with 3 day induction.
Will let you know how it is.

:open_mouth: Brave man.

Is he ‘brave’ or are you ‘bone idle’ and scared of a bit of graft :unamused:  ? As for ‘you need to be fit’ (Winseer), wot a load of bollox…still plenty of over 60’s doing runs with 20 odd drops on, day in, day out. And as for the ‘plenty of squaddies’ doing it now…I’ve seen 'em come, all Johnny Big Spuds…normally last a few days on their own and jog off to begin life on the agency, in the hope of some easy supermarket work! And yes…some of their drivers are some right moany old ■■■■■■■■■■■ 'em how long they’ve been there…most have been there years…then ask 'em if the jobs that ■■■■, why are you still here?

Thing is Actrosman, with more jobs available now, why not pick something easier? We’ve got a driver here that spits bullets when people leave for easier jobs, brands them “lazy ■■■■■■■ etc” but all he’s got to show for his years of service are bad knees and a developing hunchback. Unless he intends to play Shakespeares’ Richard III, what good’s that to anyone?

I hear what ya say Muckaway but it’s hardly the worst job in the world…same with any multi drop work that involves hundreds of stairs per day and a shed load of ■■■■■■■ & dumping…it’s either for you or it ain’t…it’s deffo not a job that you might get to like after a few month! Gotta admit, it’s not the healthiest of jobs to do, it might beef you up and burn away the calories but it does knacker any joints on the body!

I’ve never seen an “average” driver ie one aged 53ish actually running up the stairs with the said boxes under the arm. Drivers in the “elder” age group are the ones that said “F— that!” to multidrop work yonks ago.

You DO see the younger guys doing it though (I’ve yet to see a woman lugging a box up some stairs) - by younger, I mean 25-40 and they’d be fit, since if you’re not, you’re gonna be knackered after a mere 8 hours of running up and down with people slamming doors in your face, disappearing when you’ve got paperwork to get signed, and nicking stuff off their own delivery cages whilst you were not looking - and then declaring it to you as a “short”. :imp: It’s stressful rather than “physically invigorating” - let’s put it that way.

Trust me - the “graft” is only a minor aspect of this type of work being “crap”. :exclamation:

random question whats the difference between bidvest and 3663

random answer, bidvest is made up consisting of letters and 3663 is made up consisting of numbers

bidvest are the logistics and 3663 seems to be the wholesale basicly the bigger yards that serve kfc pizza hut etc are bidvest the smaller onces doing schools and hospitals etc are 3663
bidvest own 3663 ( and also something to do with fedex and a recovery firm i belive )they started changing the name a few yr ago imo a tax dodge
also i worked out of royton for a few yr and if im honest it was alright decent pay for a good days graft

Where do Swithenbank fit in? Are they the “posh” 3663?

If a company called Contract Vehicles Limited (CVL) are still involved with Bidvest then avoid like the plague. Their top man for dealing with contracts is nothing more than a walking ■■■■■ and a real ‘if you don’t like it, ■■■■ off’ kind of person.

Having worked for them (under a different moniker), he’s brave. :open_mouth:

As for being bone idle? Oh yes. Problem? :smiling_imp:

Out of Hoddesdon Depot they seem to turn more than their fair share of motors over on their side either getting onto or coming off of the A10. Had to close the A10 last time as the unit and trailer was dangling over the A10 having been turned over on the roundabout above, in doing so it fired a section of Armaco like a javelin across the on slip onto the roundabout into the adjacent embankment anybody coming up there at the time would have been cut in half.
I think the standard of driving is pretty much in keeping with company’s reputation overall …not good!

   Thing is, I think most everyone and his dog has ■■■■■■ off already! :smiling_imp:
There’s no need to insult the male organ so…

Swithenbanks are the part that do the fresh veg/meats to the other depots for distribution from there. As for female drivers, there used to be one at one depot but she got pulled over in her car one weekend and was found to be twice the legal limit, therefore, sacked and another (different depot) is now on nights loading. The depot in the West Mids has several ‘older’ drivers, some have recently received their 20 years service award. As for having a problem being bone idle, not at all…why work ya nuts off when you can do less hours and less graft for more cash! Incidentally, I’m hearing rumours  of a ‘night’ driver handing his notice in…1 hit, minimal hours, Sun-Thurs, 28k
