Best /worst drivers

Anyone slower than me is clearly a moron. Anyone faster than me is a raving lunatic.

I think that just about covers it… :grimacing:

Addison Lee, Uber or, indeed, anyone with a frikkin Prius. What’s the score with these [zb]?

We all know what the score is with them, but we’re not allowed to say it.

Pat Hasler:
Tipper drivers, garbage haulers and container haulers are the worst truck drivers over here and cause most of the deadly accidents.
The best and safest are actually fellow tanker drivers and I am not saying that because I drive one, from my experience an experienced liquid tanker driver knows how dangerous the load movement can be and take care, much to the annoyance of other drivers who do not understand how a liquid tanker reacts when moving the steering wheel, braking or accelerating fast, they get quite angry and tell me I am scared but after over 45 years driving I know what is dangerous and what is not, you don’t like me taking my time on a bend you have my permission to pass.

I have to agree with you about tanker drivers, well the period when I was on them anyway. They were amongst the best drivers and probably because as you say we knew how dangerous the load was.
The company I worked for were extremely particular aboput who they took on and any cowboys or damon hill’s were ousted immediately although I can only think of one in over ten years.
All our drivers acted professionally and of course because of that we were well rewarded. Great days.

Tanker drivers are great, 20 to 80% of the time

Used to be highly regarded, when I were a lad they were what drivers aspired to be. A few laps of the LHR Perimeter Road would soon change your mind now, sadly.

I will have to take your word for it Drempels. It seems then standards have dropped there as well? I wonder why? Saying that there will still be some decent ones as there are in every category but they seem to be dwindling everywhere!

Poor attempt at a tanker joke sorry.
As for the decline in standards, it baffles me

Why does it baffle you? Is it not obvious to you or have you only witnessed today’s appalling standards? Are you new to driving?

Despite never having pulled a tanker I got it, yet a tanker expert didn’t, rest my case about the sense of humour by pass

Yup, you could hear the woosh from here. :unamused:

Always amuses me on threads like this that it’s always other drivers that are the worst.

In the days of Truck driver of the year the top slots were always tanker drivers .
I suppose guiding a 40+ton bomb around tends to make you rather risk averse.
Addison lee , Prius, skip , tipper , courier and minicab in that order seem to be the worst unless it’s night near the ferry ports to Northern or Southern Ireland, the driving is outrageous.

then get out of the way

Most Rigids, esp those in orange hi Vis behind the wheel of a day cab, no bunk- drive their vehicles like there a sprinter van, most are on high pressure multi drop for little above min wage and drive like it.

This is coming from a rigid man myself :grimacing:

Best are Stobarts as they don’t let minor details such as low bridges get in the way of there collection and delivery points, always impressed with the ECMs of the world driving the draw bar car transporters about
