Dead man’s shoes…quality british movie.
Thank God for that! Someone else has seen it. I’ve raved about this film for years, superb low budget Brit flick with a great storyline and quality acting.

Just googled it and I remember it well…(now). Awful when the scumbags hanged the young un, but the subsequent mind games played on
em were brill. Didn`t really understand the bizarre stabbing finale but it was a well moody film. Released Oct 1st 2004 and made for a modest £723,000. Unbelievable really.

Spot on. Britain may not lead the world in your Hollywood type ott block buster, but we can still cut it when it comes down to low budget quality film making.

Also 12 Angry Men & Rear Window…watched these with the Mrs and didn’t think they were to bad! And you’ve gotta say, anything connected with Disney/Pixar is usually pretty funny! Oh, dont forget the Shrek films…for my childish side! And pretty much anything with a shed load of explosions/gun fire because if your gonna watch a noisy film, you wanna hear the windows rattle when the Bose is cranked up! A friend had a copy of Die Hard 4 on BD so I borrowed it to watch…Huge explosion in the flat, gunfire etc etc…Bruce Willis says ‘that’s gonna ■■■■ the neighbours off’…and it did…she was soon thumping the walls! Film is total rubbish btw, especially near the end!

Can’t believe nobody has mentioned Saving Private Ryan yet.
That assault on Omaha beach sequence was amazing.
Schindler’s list, another masterpiece, both by Spielberg.
Loads of other good films as already listed, but I reckon those two are a cut above most.

I’ve watched Das Boot on TV a few times and just bought the director’s cut DVD of it, a truly outstanding war film.
